FTFA: RUSH: Well, you must try. That's great. Now, this is fabulous. That's guts! That's courage! Tell him he can't listen to Fox, pulls up my website. Do it again with the teacher behind you. Be defiant there. Because we lie. We lie. We're "spreading propaganda." It's scary. It is really scary to find out just how ignorant and stupid so many American teachers in this country are. They're just activists. They're nothing more than activists. They're not teachers at all.

What. the. fark. is. going. on. in. America.

It used to be a country that really was a beacon to everyone else - and now you have... this? People who are out and out proud of being morons? People who revel in misery and pain and destruction and ignorance?

People who actively crush hope, destroy dreams and want everyone else to feel as repressed and bitter and...

... hang on, I just remembered an old saying about always being wary of he who shouts loudest. Don't know about the States, but where I come from, the ones shouting the loudest about family values and so on tend to be the ones who in the end get busted with a dead hooker in a hotel room while wearing women's underwear.

So maybe it's not so odd.

CALLER: Something like they actually know that they have, you know, conservative views they're trying to push on me and all these different things that there are speaking points that they tell their reporters to report on to get me to believe certain ways and that I can only listen to BBC and other news venues.

Yeah, that's the point I realized that kid was full of shiat and just wanted to get on the radio with his hero. I don't doubt teachers have done this sort of thing, but it didn't happen to this farking kid.

That conversation was shopped. I can tell from some of the phraseology and from seeing quite a few bullshiat "faux outrage" stories presented as news in my time.

If only someone would write a book explaining that phenomenon.

It is really scary to find out just how ignorant and stupid so many American teachers in this country are. They're just activists. They're nothing more than activists. They're not teachers at all.

I'm a teacher, and I have to give him credit for a modicum of truth here. I am an activist. An activist against the mental retardation of America. An activist against the emotional sensationalizing of the American psyche by a 24-7 Jerry Springer version of all reality. An activist against the idea that being louder and more red in the face and waving your arms around lends any credibility to what you have to say.

Good call, you bloated obsequious pussbag.

The kid was probably watching streaming video of one of those fox news "soft-core porn" stores about college kids on spring break or the danger of internet porn and the teacher berated him for being a perv.

Fox, the sybil of broadcasting.

I don't watch Fox. I have watched it in the past. It is no more biased than any other news channel. The only difference between Fox and CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/NBC is that the individual anchors on Fox are honest about their beliefs. I don't understand the hatred for Fox News, but then again I don't watch it. To listen the critics of Fox News, you'd think Bill O'Reilly claimed to be an objective journalist and unworthy of the respect of someone as pure as Dan Rather. I realize common sense will probably be called trolling if you have a visceral hatred of Fox News, but seriously, it doesn't make any sense to me.

The teacher unions and the city school districts seem to do nothing but promote the retardation of America. Many school districts no long grade papers in red ink, fail assignments for being late, or hold back students for any purpose. This movement has done nothing but completely cheapen the high school diploma and the standard bachelor's degree

When a network can be caught lying more than 50% of the time, then, no, it is not unreasonable to assume they are lying.

The only entertaining thing about Rush was when Rahm Emanuel referred to him as the "intellectual force" behind the Republican party, and all the right wingers just nodded their heads and smiled, not getting the fact that they'd just been horribly dissed. Yes, the intellectual force behind the Republican Party truly is a drug-abuser who flunked out of college, skipped Vietnam because of a pimple on his ass, and whose only real work experience before being given his own radio show was as a sportscaster.

You should watch "Outfoxed", which detailed the daily dissemination of talking points directly from the Republican party to the news anchors. The process is like clockwork. They are the only network that does that.

I teach part time at a community college, and the other "teachers" there drink the liberal koolaid that Fox News is evil. They don't watch it, they just condemn it like good little goosestepping liberals. I'm the token conservative and I enjoy making their blood pressure skyrocket. I can tell you though, there is nothing tolerant about liberals.

You must be talking about the prime time programming which is talking heads arguing from both sides. It's not a bad way to get both sides of an issue at once even though the presentation gets old quickly.

If you're looking for unbiased news you're not going to find it anywhere. The best thing to do is get it from several sources from which the spin is consistent.

Umm, it is much more biased than any other news channel. They call themselves fair and balanced and then lie to their viewers. If you've spent any time here at all, and I've only been here a couple of years, you'd know that a vast majority of the right-wingers here pay very close attention to all the garbage coming out of Fox News and spew it out verbatim - and then are promptly proved wrong by the simplest of Google searches and at least 20 separate Farkers. Then the Fox news junkies dig in and claim everyone else is biased and that they are being persecuted.

Fox cultivates a victim mentality in their viewers, fills them with misinformation and a cult-like sense of belonging, then shoves them out into the world to scream and yell stupidity longer and louder than anyone else. It's a travesty of journalism, and they should not be able to use the word news on their program.

For my sins, I was at a workplace with Fox turned on during the run-up to the Iraq war. This was the time when Fox dropped every pretense of being a news station and turned to complete propaganda saturation. If they had been my only news input, I would've been left with the impression that Saddam Hussein engineered 9/11 - as so many of their viewers still seem to think.

They willingly turned themselves into a Gvt. agitprop outlet, and for that they deserve nothing but condemnation. Piss on them.

I love the earlier post that referred to this as Farkistan. I thoroughly intend to overuse that term, 'til you're all so sick of it you could puke. Jake here is a perfect example of the liberals on Fark who don't want to have a reasoned debate. They think anyone who dares to disagree is, at the very least, stupid and, often, should die a horrible death. I don't see that level of visceral hatred coming from very many of the conservatives here.
