You know what, Greta? I don't have the answers to everything. I'm not running for political office. I don't have the answers to everything, you know, in the world out there.

Where have we heard that same type of thing, from someone that has also jumped into the public spotlight?

tbn1.google.com

Oh yeah.

Greta, I am focusing on marriage right now, not adoption, not civil unions, just traditional marriage, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to promote that.

She's so retarded she doesn't understand that it would benefit the children of gay couples in a legal sense if the partnership was recognized under the law.

Well from what Miss California is suggesting, with all of those children running around who didn't have a mother or a father, I'd say extinction is pretty much certain...

...and perhaps deserved.

Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all like many of the principles on which this great country was founded; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of marriages like Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

I've got a hint for the folks who keep wanting "Everyday Heroes" on hot button issues: stop.

Please, just stop. Getting some ignorant and tissue thin spokesperson who has the combined knowledge of a flea and a kernel of corn on the issues they're speaking about doesn't make your case any stronger.

Yes, it makes them look like they're being destroyed in anything resembling national debate. And while that plays out to a certain crowd--it plays to the crowd that protested wasteful spending by buying teabags to waste themselves.

These are not exactly the bright lights of a movement. You might do better to actually marshal the folks who can speak, who can reason, and who can articulate your concerns--not throw up sacrificial lambs who will be eviscerated.

That seems to be the strategy. If you just sacrifice folks who can't speak, who can't reason, that "real Americans" will feel that you're attacking them. It's an interesting strategy, but it's similar to the expenditure of suicide bombers--only a bit slower. It's not even sacrificing pawns for better position, it's just adding signal noise, on an already busy channel.

Or, you can accept that perhaps you are arguing points that actually contravene the very beliefs you pretend to espouse about religious freedom, God's love, and family values.

Love makes a family. It makes them when the family is a man and a child, a woman and a child, a husband and wife and a child, a pair of men and a child, a pair of women and a child, or a passel of folks in a house of various generations who all love and care for a child. Love is the real factor, and maybe if you'd stop pretending that it's for the "good" of the children, when you stick your nose into other peoples' bedrooms, and that it contravenes the very concept of personal freedoms, then we might be able to actually address issues caring for our children, and their welfare.

Those who want to poke their nose into other peoples' business have no interest in God's love, loving kindness, or anything looking like "Christian" values, you're just being a Nosey Nellie.

And my Grandma taught me that was rude.

Perez Hilton is the one who made her a celebrity. If he would have shut up and not said anything about her answer no one would have known her name and saying "that is above my pay grade" means "I can't find a good canned response to this so I will punt"

! Two people who love each other and want to be together and are gay is just like spousal abuse. Excellent argument!

The beautiful thing of this story is that within the echo chamber the right wing has sequestered itself in now, there will be bloggers and talk radio hosts and other pundits who talk about how brilliant she is. They will call her a great weapon against the gay agenda, and promote her.

Of course, outside that, she seems utterly brainless and further discredits their movement. But since right wing "commentary" has devolved into a small circle of idiots telling each other how brilliant they are, they can't see that.

I know that it's a nice narrative, that she's a victim here, but there was such a thing as a gracious loser at one point...

You know, taking responsibility for your own actions and your own performance...

I am so offended that mainstream news shows are giving this dumbf*ck a platform to spread her stupidity. I also can't believe that she actually thinks heterosexual marriage is threatened by teh ghey menace. I mean, that's a grade of stupid I'm just astounded by. It's so dumb any program should be ashamed of themselves for promoting a discussion at a level below what an average 8 year old is capable of.

Heterosexual marriage is only threatened by heterosexuals. I've read a lot of the bitter divorced-man threads on Fark over the years (usually facepalming most of the time) and I've never read people blaming GAYS for the decline of their heterosexual marriages in the anonymous rant-freedom of the internets. Here are the things bitter divorced dudes on Fark blame:
- ex-wife
- ex-wife
- b*tch who took all my money
- women in general
- bad sex (this is blamed on the woman)
- the legal system which "benefits" women by giving them children, child support
- lawyers
- sometime, insane in-laws
- women
- crazy women
- asshole who stole my woman
- cheating whore ex-wife
- cheesecake and nachos that made lazy ex-wife a land orca
- ETC.

And women tend to blame...
- men
- men's inability to communicate
- men who cheat
- no-good assholes
- drunk jerks
- bad fathers
- wanting different things out of a relationship
- constant conflict (this is portrayed as the man's fault)
- terrible in-laws
- men's jealousy
- etc.

So... where the f*ck are the gays in this? Are the gays standing in your bedroom egging you on in a massive shouting match while they eat popcorn and enjoy the fireworks, heteros?

"Yeah! Tell her again that she doesn't make you happy any more, Dave!"
"Mmm, this popcorn is delicious. Is this jalapeño seasoning, Marc?"
"Yup... Linda! Now would be a good time to cry while mentioning that Dave always tries to make you feel inadequate in bed."
"No, Dave, no! Resist going to the marital counselor! She always sides with Linda!"
"Linda, now would be a good time to mention that you may be in love with someone at work who supports you emotionally in the ways that Dave cannot."
"Oooooh! I didn't think Dave would smash the wedding portrait!"
