Thank you so much, Subby, for posting this! I've been trying to find Chevy Chase's rap for years but I never knew the name of it.

Man, listening to that over 28 years later really brought back memories.

while clicking through those I invoked the ghost of 80s rap and I saw it fall on its knees and squeal for mercy with tears in its eyes

Does subby realize those were trying to be humorous and thus the comparison to Vanilla Ice isn't exactly valid?

How could they have left out John Wayne?

Rappin' Duke

"200 punks? Well, whatcha gonna do?
I got two six shooters that'll see me through.
That's twelve dead...
and a hundred and eighty-eight pallbearers."

Da-Haaaa, Da-haaaaa.....

FFF: Fernando?

I liked the Dangerfield rap when it came out. I believe it was even a top 40 hit. Sue me.

ShawnDoc [TotalFark] 2009-05-01 06:09:20 PM
What, no Bob Hope rapping? (Think it was early '90's when he did it)

Gangway Fathead 2009-05-01 06:45:53 PM
Didn't Jim Belushi "rap" a lot on Saturday Night live in the early 80s? That was pretty farking abysmal.

AndyGiardina 2009-05-01 06:51:49 PM
don't forget Dee Dee King, Dee Dee Ramone's unholy hip hop career.

Vanilla Ice still sucks.

"White Guys", circa 1985 (can't find video).

Article forgets:

Tom Hanks and Dan Ackroyd (truly execrable)

Mr. T

Yes. In 1984 (warning, plays automatically)

I liked it too. Good old Rodney.

pwhp_67, why did you post that? I had to go watch it and feel uncomfortable all over again.

That was a masterpiece compared to these.

no idea where to find it, but "macho man" Randy Savage" did one that was equally horrid.

That's my favorite song when it comes to annoying American colleagues. I've almost managed to convince them that it's been huge in Germany.

/And it sounds great with a tone deaf German accent.
//Evil? Maybe. A just revenge for all those unfounded Hasselhoff accusations? Certainly.

Mel Brooks actually has decent flow.

/can't believe no one's sampled the "It's good to be the king"

Rich Little did his own rap song on his followup album to First Family Rides Again: The Contra Rap. (new window)

shadowself 2009-05-02 11:08:03 AM
I thought all horrible rap songs started with, "My name's _____ _____ and I'm here to say..."

Today I learned that there is a level of rap below horrible.

GungFu 2009-05-02 01:41:33 PM
It's funny because they all sound like Eminem.

ZeroCorpse [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-05-02 02:39:50 PM
I should probably be ashamed to admit that I have the Joe Piscopo album with the Honeymooners Rap on it.

And it's still stuck in my head.

ZeroCorpse [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-05-02 02:55:50 PM
And they forgot that Marc McCollum did a rap as various cartoon characters in his stand-up act back in the 80s. I think he did one as Popeye and one as Bugs Bunny.

bluorangefyre 2009-05-02 03:29:12 PM
I remember Rodney Dangerfield's song got lots of play on VH1.

/see that lawn? yeah, its mine, so you can get off it right now

Cornwell [TotalFark] 2009-05-02 06:56:21 PM
You know what subby?

I am a rather open-minded man, and I sometimes click things on the internet I really shouldn't click, sometimes out of curiosity, and sometimes muttering the mantra of true terror "It can't possibly be that bad."

And still, I can't bring myself to watch that.

I actually remember most of these. Problem is they suck about as much as any rap I've heard from "real" rappers in the last 10 years.
