When the teenagers have a party while the parents are away, it costs the grownups a lot of money to take care of the aftermath.

Yeah in this case its like the kid caused $1,000 worth of damage to Mom's favorite rug, but she's using this as an opportunity to get an entire new furniture set for $30,000.

If John McCain was president, he could run the country on a budget of $4.98.

B HUSSEIN Obama is the worst president ever.

The middle class tax cut is now gone. Now the real taxing begins. 65k a year is being talked about by dems for the top rate of the tax code to kick in. Health care now is on the road to ruin as well.

We actually shed most of our long term debt at the end of the 1990's, so it's not as bad as you might think.

OK, so it's bad. Really bad.

Maybe we should re-outlaw the wholesale bribery of Congress and reinstate a regulatory regime on large corporations that actually makes sense?

Nah, driving the country into the ground is SO muh more fun. What was I thinking.

I find it ridiculously amusing that the Republicans are doing their concern troll schtick about gubermint spendin'. "Oh, I didn't like it when Bush spent so much, either!" they cry, which is a complete farking lie that's so absurd it's little wonder why the Republican party is in a death spiral. They didn't mind the almost trillion dollars spent on the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, they didn't mind the tax cuts that were never, ever coupled with a cut in spending as promised, they didn't mind the dramatic increase in overall defense spending, they didn't mind the dramatic increase in size of the Federal Government, et cetera. Or, if they minded at all, they never said a Goddamn word about it.

People like Kapono- dude, seriously. I could maybe believe that you might've grumbled for a second here or there about unbridled Federal spending under Bush, but you basically just shrugged and let it go. Again- and I've said this to you before- I know you're intelligent. So why the cognitive dissonance on this issue? It sure as hell doesn't suit you. All you're doing is, once again, bending over and letting the mouth-breathers (that have taken the Republican party to a place it'll never recover from) dictate your behavior and talking points.

Seriously, dude! C'mon!

It's more that this budget really isn't all that much bigger. Yes, the official Bush number was $2.983T at the beginning of the year, but that budget was intentionally dishonest by not including Iraq or Afghanistan. Besides, if we're going to attack people for spending, I think the added on $700B is fair game.

See, no, that part was great! They all loved that. And if it had been accompanied by a huge rise in Federal spending, that might've been okay. Hell, that would've funded Bush's expedition to Iraq in full.

No kidding. If only we'd been wiser over the last 8 years. Because all spending is stimulus, we should have encouraged Bush to spend even more. The whole reason we're in the mess we're in today is because he spent too little and didn't create a big enough deficit.

Because Obama's budget plan is to move this country towards socialism--which never works anywhere. Obama's an idiot, and a friend of terrorists.

They are both unreal. Maybe you should take a look at a link I submitted last year that captures my feelings perfectly: President Bush signs $555 billion spending bill... Yay fiscal conservatism.

ragekage: "Oh, I didn't like it when Bush spent so much, either!" they cry, which is a complete farking lie that's so absurd it's little wonder why the Republican party is in a death spiral.

The Republican party is in a death spiral because someone like myself, who is fiscally conservative and socially moderate, doesn't want anything to do with them.

I could maybe believe that you might've grumbled for a second here or there about unbridled Federal spending under Bush, but you basically just shrugged and let it go. There is no cognitive dissonance here. I hated spending under Bush (check out the link above). The GOP is losing relevance because it is losing people like myself.

I don't want to spoil the party for the Messiah, but I'm so tired of Obama's Marxist revolution. Do you want to know a secret? Let it be known that I really thought Obama would help our country down the long and winding road towards getting better and fixing a hole in our economy. I want to tell you I should have known better. It won't be long before his helter skelter spending has put us in financial misery and there will be no way we can work it out. The taxman comes and takes every little thing from me. You never give me your money, you think I will give you mine? When I'm sixty four hundred dollars in debt, you won't see me giving up my hard earned wages for no one. I swear we're back in the USSR. And in spite of all the danger, Obama's flying here there and everywhere, bowing to the Sheik of Araby, hugging her Majesty in England. It's all too much. Get back here; you can't do that. Don't bother me and ask me why not - think for yourself! Because I've got a feeling that pretty soon the people of this country are going to come together and realize what you're doing. You better run for your life.
