Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and baseball. Holy Christ, that's like an Americana overload.

Are Billy Bob and the Coxmasters opening for them?

mfaby 2009-04-28 09:20:31 PM
They are playing here at SUMMERFEST - America's premier music festival; ten side stages with six bands PER DAY for $20 and one main stage for folks like Dylan.

This is one show I want to see.

Last year in the space of four hours I saw A3, Alejandro Escovedo, Thievery Corporation and The Wailers.

I think the "Strange" tag is apropos their dragging along a has-been like Johnny Cougar on this particular jaunt.

No John Fogerty?

(Center Field)

I saw them in Chattanooga about 4 years ago and it rained the entire time. It was seriously one of the best shows I've been to. Dylan appropriately played A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall. I was really impressed with Mellencamp when he toured with John Fogerty. This seems like a helluva deal for all three.

/Tix were $50 for Bob and Willie
//Order now and we'll include Johnny Cougar for only $17.50!

By far the cooler link is, on that page, the 50 best Bob Dylan covers. Amazing stuff - even though they left off one of my favorites, Aztec Camera's I Threw It All Away

Haha, that's pretty farking funny. And so original, making fun of their singing. Did you think of that yourself? Oh my god, that is so funny! I mean, I've always been a fan of them before, but you know what, now that you've pointed out that they aren't perfect singers, I'm going to boycott this tour. Thanks for releasing me from my false reality! How did these guys ever become so successful?

you know who else was a nasally singer?

what, no you retard, not hitler! gosh!

I'll be at the grand prairie show late enough to miss Mellencamp. Been a long time since I've seen Willie. Plus, if you want your kids to see a couple of legends before they're gone, 14 & under are free with a paid adult admission.

Willie was awesome with fans last time he did one of these shows with Dylan near me. Signed autographs by his trailer until everybody was happy, except maybe the stoners who had made it their life's goal to smoke with Willie.

Jazzfest begs to differ with that assessment.

They did the same thing five years ago. They came to Wichita and played Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. It was awesome.

Feel free but you're wrong.
How much is admission? $20 for all stages but one (like Summerfest?)
What are it's hours? Noon to midnight(like Summerfest)
How many days does it run?(Ten, like Summerfest?)
What are the grounds like? 100 acres directly on the Lake Michigan shoreline? (Like Summerfest?)
When does it run? June-July when the weather is just gorgeous?

Summerfest has been in business for over 40 years.
That lame 'Bummblefest' in Seattle that gets written up every year in the NYTimes? I met the first executive director and he told me the idea came from Summerfest.

I would like to go to a minor league game (T-Bones, in my case) that was having a 'Talk Like Bob Dylan Night.'

Enjoy your little concert in Milwaukee. Jazz Fest is in New Orleans (score one for Jazz Fest), has twelve stages operating simultaneously (two for Jazz Fest), better acts (three for Jazz Fest), great weather (N.O. in April > Milwaukee any month; that's four for Jazz Fest) and all the food is from amazing local restaurants (that's Jazz Fest ftw). But really, have fun in Milwaukee.
