Too funny, I do remember those as being hidden treasure! (at least somewhat, I am not over the hill age-wise)

I seriously thought Roger's entry was a stereogram.. After staring at it for a couple minutes and realizing it's not, I attempted to make one. It's not perfect, but there are some foobie-like objects in here... Click for biggie size

lol that's all amazing.

I also thought Roger's was a stereogram.... you make a stereogram *basically* by having a repeating pattern and then making two or more iterations of the pattern more widely spaced (horizontally), or less widely spaced.

By playing with angles, you can also *warp* the pattern to create spacing.

Did I get it about right, Tiny? (nice foobs, btw!)

Thanks Roger and The Iconoclast! I used this freeware program: http://www.swiftgear.com/stmaker/features.html. You need a range image (or AutoCAD DXF file) for the 3d data and a pattern image for the tile. Here's the range image I used for this one (lighter pixels appear closer in the 3d conversion):

Really? Open the big one and cross your eyes for 3d magic. I thought it was farking cool.

Yeah I did that....but I still just dont see it. At all. I must be color blind or something

Another reason is if you have significant differences in the visual acuity of each eye. I can't see these either.

Perfect! I also remember having to put all the items onto the one screen and finding the invisible dot so you can pass through the wall to see the credits!

I collect 3D images; from 19th century antiques to present day stuff. I can see cross-eye stereo pairs, but I always have trouble with these stereograms. All I saw was some depth in the middle, horizontally. Not sure what else I was supposed to see.

Try as I might, I can't get it either. Different prescription for each eye, plus one of them is a bit lazy. Also when I try too hard my eye muscles get farked up, so I'll stop now.

TelefunkenU47, what was the name of that game? That takes me back... played it was so young I can barely remember.

Tiny Jr, just awesome. To me the smaller pic showed "breasts", while the larger pic showed depressions. Reminded me of the early 90's in college looking at posters with spaceships and such(Seinfeld reference here). Thanks man.

TelefunkenU47, other than the Zappa reference in your name, your PS reminded me of the early 80's, maybe late 70's (ugh.. off my lawn and stuff) and made me laugh. TY for that.

Both of you.

Tiny JR and Roger Mexico- Awesome work. I was able to see some of Roger Mexico's, but not Tiny Jr's. DH burst out laughing when I asked him to look. He had to tell me and he assures me it's awesome. My eyes are pretty farked up, so I'm sure that's the reason why I couldn't see it.

/He tells me I would enjoy the picture.

Just for the sake of those with impaired eyesight - the marching band pic has Miles Davis intruding, there's a Golden Apple on the apple tree, the Da Vinci lady is pointing to the OM symbol, the Holy Grail is hidden among the metallic dishware, there are pearls before the swine, and if you can't see what's overlaid on the water ripples I have no cure for you.

same here.

as for what we're supposed to see, have a look at the greyscale image Tiny posted at 07:42:01.

interesting that you said 'depth.' I see them as depressions also, but clearly they're supposed to be protruding.

Mot sure of it's due to my state of intoxication, but I found that "map" to be hilarious even if I can't see your original in all its glory. I generally wait a day a day or two to vote so everyone gets a chance to submit, but that's one in the bank for you.
