(Some Guy) Asinine It's pretty rare for a band to play an hour longer than expected, especially a huge act like Paul McCartney. But that's what happened at Coachella. The bad news? Coachella is being fined $1000.00 per minute he overplayed   (glasswerk.co.uk) divider line 33

Eh, never much cared for 'em. I'd much prefer a Jetta.

I think Sir Paul has the funds to pay this fine.

I was there. Worth every penny that it wont cost me.

The article said the organizers could be fined. It hasn't happened yet. It may not happen. Just sayin'.

What the Hell, man? How can one country be SO full of dicks?

306,306,832 people (new window) Law of averages says there's gonna be a ton of dicks in that population.

Trust me, Coachella is the biggest moneymaker that shiathole of a flyspeck ever sees. If they enforce this, they'll just push the festival out of there and then dry up and die, like they should have decades ago.

they pulled the plug on the cure for going late too, and they kept playing on stage monitors until indio police unplugged those one by one. it was awesome.

As long as he was the last act I see no problem with this, as a fan at least. I just hate when you go to festivals and an act is on stage way longer than their alloted time and it pushes all the other acts back. This happened to me two years ago in Chicago at the download festival and it really pissed me off.

Seriously. $54K? I'm pretty sure Paul has that in his couch. Maybe in the pocket of that coat he hasn't worn since last year.

Did he sing his hit "Band overrun"?

eh, paul mccartney's music never impressed me anyway. he's basically a 1960s version of billy joe armstrong. churn out meaningless bubble gummy pop music, do a lot of drugs, and then try to act like you're holier than the dali lama.

/i know they're friends

WTF is "coachella?" sounds like a skanky fashion brand.

They should fine him every time he forces people to listen to his so called music.

They should move this concert out to the middle of the desert or something, so there are no neighbors to complain.

Same dam thing happened years ago at the Clapton show the night after SRV was killed.
Clapton said fark it and covered the fines.
Best concert ever for the worst reason ever.

It was an amazing performance I won't ever forget. The Cure were great too but they had the plug yanked as noted earlier when they went long.

The city of Indio can go suck it. These are the same tools who tried to tell Waters last year he couldn't use the plane that flew over the crowd for his show. He did it anyway and paid the fine (iirc). Indio likes fines.

Paul McCartney was the last act of the evening. I think he's moved past "opener" status. Otherwise, what you said... definitely true.

Just how long did the "na na na na na na nas" go on in "Hey Jude?"

I was also there. It was worth every penny. Indio, and the whole valley is one giant shiathole. I got my camera stolen by a local tweaker.
But Sir Paul made up for it.

Local Residents would be a great band name if all of the members were pricks.

You're absolutely right. Paul McCartney owes his entire career to Billie Joe Armstrong, and the Beatles were nothing but a ripoff of Green Day. Bravo.
