fortunately, when the seventh seal is opened, we will at least get a little bit of quiet, however brief.

this is proof that God exists only to the extent that it is proof that Satan exists. But to that end, it is conclusive.

"We live in a world where John Lennon was murdered, yet Creed continues to put out farking albums. God-dammit! If you're gonna murder somebody, have some farking taste. I'll drive you to Scott Stapp's house."

If the new stuff sounds like the My Own Prison album, then it's OK because that was a good album. Very raw, unpolished, no really bad songs.

But if the stuff sounds like the last 2 albums or their live performances border on a religious revival, then I say "Please, for the love of God and FSM, no."

/Yes, I've seen them live.

can't say i know much of creed. might give it a listen. might now.

In other words, they need more money.

Hopefully this doesn't adversely affect Alter Bridge. I used to like Creed, but then got sick of Scott Stapp's ultra-hypocritical ways. Plus, their third album was absolute sh*t. And while some of Alter Bridge's songs still have a feel as though they were written for Creed, they've got an edgier sound, and Myles Kennedy is a vastly superior vocalist. He's also pretty good on guitar, too, which Stapp clearly lacks.

Well put. You know when the bass player of the hottest rock band in the world quits right when they're getting huge... the bass player, mind you... the bottom has dropped out.

Tremonti is a good guitarist, the rhythm section is solid, but man did Stapp bring lameness to a new level with their BS "new direction." Forgive me if I don't rush out and buy this album first thing.

Because Creed sold millions of records and made money. What did Alter bridge do?

/oh my God I'm justifying Creed....

I'm gonna call it here first.

Myles Kennedy - New Velvet Revolver Singer

These. It f*cking sucks that Alter Bridge has to disappear for this craptastic band to get back together. Myles Kennedy is an incredible singer/songwriter and I hope he finds success in whatever he does from here. Blackbird is a phenomenal rock album due in large part to his influence (he didn't write the songs for One Day Remains), and he worked well with Tremonti's technical skill. I'm just happy I got to see them at a local festival, where they started at 3:30 p.m. and played a full set with incredible energy to a half-capacity crowd.

Edgier than CREED?! That sounds pretty extreme.

He turned them down once before. Although if he needs a gig we'll see.

Hopefully Myles can get his own thing going. He is a truly gifted singer and songwriter, and plays guitar much better than anyone thinks.

I'd like to see him go a bit more down the R&B path and away from the big rock thing. I'm thinking a more bad ass, non-douchey John Mayer for the 21st century. He really is the complete package, and works hard at it.

Alter Bridge is vastly superior to Creed in almost every aspect.

Then again, most bands are superior to Creed.

It has also been rumored that Myles will replace Robert Plant on a Led Zep reunion tour. WTF?

no, they will tour together and cause a huge vortex of suck and may bring about the Apocalypse.

Outshined: It has also been rumored that Myles will replace Robert Plant on a Led Zep reunion tour. WTF?

I was just gonna come and say that, but it wouldn't be called Led Zeppelin thankfully.

Personally, I am going. This was the 'hometown band that made good' where I used to live (70 miles from Tallahassee, where Creed formed), and they'll be kicking off their tour around 85 miles from where I live now. So I'm definitely going, since it's all downhill from that point.

You may be right; I read that Stapp's bible-thumping new wife was trying to keep the whole band from partying, boozing, and groupie-using. What's the point of being in a top rock band if you're single and can't live the rock star lifestyle? The impression that I got was that he jumped ship.

ChrisPC 2009-04-29 12:56:13 AM
Creed sold about 25 million albums, so there's still demand. This is definitely a cash-in tour, just like Van Halen, The Police, etc. I might go see it, if it's cheap enough. I saw them in '01, and they were actually pretty good.

BTW, Alter Bridge says they're still together, and will record after the Creed tour is over.
