The raid led to the arrest of nine minors in possession of alcohol and six people on charges of procuring alcohol to minors, including the hosts of the party, 22-year-old Christopher Phalen and 19-year-old Cassandra Phalen.

More like Chris and Cassie Failin', amirite?

Mennonite? I don't think they were.

Inside the hosts had done their best to hide any evidence of a party from mom and dad as furniture was moved into another room, paintings were pulled off the wall and the carpets covered.

I found this pretty considerate of the kids.

Yeah, that's real considerate. They could just, you know, not invite a massive amount of people over to their parents house. Seriously though, a 22 year old is throwing a party at his parents house? What a lame biatch.

Fifteen people were arrested Sunday morning after authorities invited themselves to what was advertised on the Internet as a "History Making House Party" in Sarpy County.

You're doing it wrong.

If that's "history making", my birthday party was "apocalyptic".

Then why not throw the party at his place? Also, they're probably lucky the cops showed up before the "estimated 600 people" showed up, I remember reading an article on fark awhile back where a party advertised on facebook turned insane quick and the people farked shiat up.

I haven't, because I'm not an inconsiderate dumbass. It's not my house, it's my father's, and he doesn't want parties being thrown there. I also don't go to those retarded kinds of parties, because I don't tend to enjoy jailtime for being implicated in procuring for minors.

I know a guy like that. He dropped out of law school and since then (12+ years) he has been unemployed and living off an allowance from his dad in an apartment. Every summer when his folks go away for two weeks he takes up residence in their house and tries to throw parties (because they have a pool, tennis court, etc.) He even nicknames the house "Club D" after his last initial.

that implies that partying goes on in every room of the house and out in the yard as well. a plain ol' party usually is confined to the living room, dining room, and kitchen.

Facebook is a great way to organize a party.

All you have to do is mark it "private".

I remember the Nixon presidency.

I was only commenting how nice it was for the kids to move the furniture and cover the carpets.

Of course they were dumbasses for advertising on (the) Facebook, but as Epiphany mentioned, there have been home wrecking house party stories on Fark before - and I would bet that many Farkers have either hosted or been to similar.

Could there be block parties about which I don't know?
Maybe they're in neighbourhoods where I don't go.
Could there be all these parties down some little lane
With potato chips sitting there and guitars playing?
We need more parties in the USA.

Actually, that's more like avoiding the creation of evidence in the first place. And while preventing the creation of evidence is the most fundamentally sound single way to make sure no evidence remains afterward, wxboy is right that the hosts' efforts to avoid the creation of evidence were far from comprehensive.

Yeah 600 random people. They are lucky the cops ended it early. The cost of the damage to that place would of been epic, even after they put away all the stuff. Unless they had security people there.

Yes, I have actually been to house parties with security, I have been to some VERY large house parties. And once you go beyond "A friend of a friend", you can get in a lot of trouble. Don't go beyond the 2 degrees of separation.
