Interesting, since Satan appears to be quite useful for the religious right...

He is to the religious Right what cavities are to dentists..

Confabulat: Remind me, what's Satan's motive again?

He's YHWH's bagman. He takes the rap for all the horrible and senseless things that a just and loving god can't be seen doing. Y'know, same god that spent the whole first half of the Bible drowning entire regions and burning down cities and shiat.

Of course Satan is shaking his big red fist saying, "You won this time Utah, but I'll be BACK!!" followed of course by maniacal laughter.

If only there were some omnipotent force out there that could defeat this evil being once and for all...

Don Larsen, a Springville delegate, offered the resolution, titled "Resolution opposing the Hate America anti-Christian Open Borders cabal," warning delegates that an "invisible government" comprised of left-wing foundations was pumping money into the Democratic Party to push for looser immigration laws and anti-family legislation.

I think he just secured a spot as Glenn Beck's special guest.

Zenken13 [TotalFark] 2009-04-26 02:36:16 AM
What exactly is anti-family legislation? And does this devil character have a newsletter?

Satan is pro-family.
Pro-MANSON family!

MU-U-U-U-U-AH-AH-AH-AH-AHHHHH!!!!

But seriously, folks. Who votes in these kooks? Are retarded people allowed to vote in Utah? Oh, wait-

It's like watching the old Star Trek shows when they started having trouble keeping their "future technologies" ahead of the tech that was actually coming out in real life; in this case it's like watching The Onion trying to be more absurd and hilarious than the actual GOP.

I can't believe a serious political leader actually drafted something called the "Resolution opposing the Hate America anti-Christian Open Borders cabal."

/I'm even more amazed that the Republican leadership was actually smart enough to know they should shout this one down

So I never understood this, Why can't god just make satan go away? I know about original sin but why would a god even allow that to happen?

The professional kook Alex Jones (who I think is trying, along with Ron Paul, to become the L. Ron Hubbard of the American right wing) has been showing up on Fox News lately. The GOP is sinking deeper and deeper into The Crazy, but rest assured they will continue to play the victim and blame their every failure on "THE MEDIA".

Barry Goldwater must be doing some impressive RPMs in his coffin at this point.

See, that's what farkin' mystifies me.

I think most Christians must be blind to this sort of thing, because all too often they express the sincere belief that their religion isn't problematic in the slightest and that when atheists speak out against it, it's somehow uncalled for. (Cue the complaints of "Christian bashing" in three...two...) They must regularly overlook things like this and this, the kind of shiat that hits the Fark frontpage on a daily basis; it's as if they literally can't see it.

That's the only conclusion that makes sense to me at the moment. They don't notice/remember events like this due to some kind of reverse confirmation bias, so naturally criticism of their religion appears wholly unwarranted to them. If there's some alternative explanation, I don't know what it could be.

FTFA - But Cameron Sevy, a Provo delegate, said the GOP shouldn't be ashamed to say that America is a Christian nation.

It. Is. Not! Nor was it ever intended to be. But keep thinking that. Maybe you can convince a few more people to convert to the Quiverful movement.

After sifting through the whaargarble, I came away with this: One guy suggests that the Latino vote should be courted, as clearly evidenced by the Bush tallies. And then the other guy just goes batshiat insane and starts rambling about Satan via immigrants.

I want to be a part of this exclusive world where being certifiably insane is actually a badge of honor and cause for praise amongst your peers. In the real world, if you replace "Jesus" with "Lord Kimbaugh," you get an express ticket to Bellevue.

So, anyone actually got anything about what the damn resolution was actually about? Because our Dear Author didn't make that all too clear, only that it was backed by a some hokey religion against the blasters of Republican justice...

Which sounds like a good thing--but it might have done well to explain WTF the resolution actually was for. You know, in the light of being a journalist and all...

Sane Mormons?

ah yes kolob... isn't that from that good old Book of Abraham?

You know the one that every single Egyptologist that examined it and said that (surprise, surprise) Joseph Smith was full of shiat?

"Smith was totally unacquainted with the significance of these documents and absolutely ignorant of the simplest facts of Egyptian writing and civilization."

"It may be safely said that there is not one single word that is true in these explanations"

"It is difficult to deal seriously with Joseph Smith's impudent fraud...."

Satan was God's most beautiful angel. His name was Lucifer. In about 1828AD, God kicked Lucifer out of heaven because Luke didn't pick up God's poop threads.
