Leave Obama alone. It has only been 100 days. He does not even have all his top spot filled because his appointees can't remember to pay their taxes, and the ones that do pay their taxes blame Canada for the 9/11 murderer's entry into the US.

Just leave him alone, he has to ask President Hilary Clinton when he is really going to leave Iraq.

Sorry we deigned to note your trolltastic submission and subsequent moronic behavior as anything such. Though you're so far overboard I doubt you're actually a real "conservative"- probably a troll from DemocraticUnderground. Hell, at least Tatsuma, Snowflake Tuffybottom, Lunchinlewis, and a few others, can form a cogent sentence, and try to discuss an issue. You're just interested in the slash-and-burn.

Though I suppose that's fine; your behavior will come to be what people identify with the GOP (which, I assume, is your intent), and it will continue to crash and burn. Here's a tip, tho- stay out of threads you submit. Running into them mere seconds after submission and upvoting/trolling just ain't cool.

Well, yes. That's what being involved in a discussion means. You take in what other people think and respond.

For instance, I don't really care what 5 year olds think, thus, I don't go to kindergartens to strike up a conversation. You may call me an elitist, but I feel that kindergartners just don't have the intelligence to have a meaningful conversation.

You obviously have prejudged all Farkers as less intelligent than you, however, you continue to enter the thread and post and respond, etc.

If you're just posting to see your words on the big wide interweb, then that's kind of sad.

A shot of adrenaline to the heart may save your life if you're in cardiac arrest. Does that mean it's good for your health to inject adrenaline all the time?

In fact, overall, using deficit spending to stimulate the economy works best if during normal times, you DON'T deficit spend at all.

Stop harping on the pork in the spending bill idiots. Pork accounted for less than 1% of the bill. The only way we are going to cut spending is by cutting in the programs that take up the lions share of our money, even though that is politically unsafe. Military and social security. Pork is such a minor amount it is absurd to even mention with the other elephants in the room,....so to speak.

Dear freepmitter, I know it's complicated, but you need to realize that actions needed right now aren't always actions that one needs to continue doing after the existing problem has been solved. Like Rush and oxycontin, if he would have just taken it while he needed it, he wouldn't be hypocritical drug abuser. Obama is saying, "We need to do this now, but we don't need to continue once the problem is solved."

Oh, right, and your "all spending is pork" idea is really strange.

KaponoFor3: Obama has talked of shrinking the size of government programs (specifically, reforming entitlement programs) -- that would go a long way to making sure our children don't get passed on rising deficits and debts.

Ah yes, the entitlement programs.

Those wasteful government functions that actually keep Americans alive. That's probably where we should cut, because, after all, when enough poor people reach the point of nothing left to lose we can watch as they burn down all those wasteful buildings, like courthouses and attorney's offices, place that they feel like they have been treated unfairly in a disproportionate way for generations.

The last count I saw was that the United States has something ridiculous like 100,000 law enforcement officers and you want to cut the programs that millions pf people depend of for food, housing, medical care and heat?

Something something plan, something not something something all the way through...

Okay, how about an alternative...

Find and eliminate inefficiency in government programs, I'm sure that can't be too hard. My neighbor (young couple, 20-21ish, one child, married a little over 2 years, he works, she is a stay at home mom) and I were talking about WIC. Every month they receive about $65.00 in food - which easily costs double that to administer - what and all considering that she and the baby have to schlep to the WIC office every three months, including every six months where the baby gets weighed and measured - like they can't get that information from the baby's pediatrician? While the formula subsidization is a huge help, there is a need to fix the system - not remove these critical and low cost benefits, benefits that have a huge payback.

You want to see where money can be cut?

Take a look at Pharmaceuticals - these friggin' rapists spend more money on advertising, PR, and lobbying than they do on research - and we're the ones paying for it. How about defense - something I can't remember the last time we needed a carrier battle group to protect us against an invading navy. And while we're at it, let's find a way, once and for all, of fixing the medical care in this country. This has been nothing more than a insurance company grab since we allowed them to screw us against the wall.

And yes, I can probably come up with a list of two dozen government programs that are costing us WAY more than we get back in real benefits, given an opportunity.

I think the Bible put it rather succinctly "Physician Heal Thyself" or maybe "You should take care of that plank in your own eye before worrying about the speck in mine"
and how ironic is that title when applied to conservatives who wear their ignorance like a badge of honor?

Okay, I read your study and I'm probably a little less ignorant for it, even though the premise behind it I figured out in the third grade when the slowest kid in the class announced to us all that he knew he was smart.

My question to you is, where do you believe you fall into this study's conclusions?

To be fair, let me tell you how I evaluate myself. I'm scared to death that I don't know or understand enough. On average I read roughly 500 pages a day (not including Fark) and I still feel like the more I learn, the more I realize I don't know.

More to the point, even if you are God's gift to both women and all life on earth, I found your attitude condescending - which according to the teabagger below is not the highest form of patriotic.

Renowned transvestite sexologist 2009-04-26 05:50:04 AM
ds0990: Military and social security.

The real problem is neither of those. The real problem is medicare/medicaid. Basically, if the cost of medical coverage keeps increasing that rate it has for the past 20 years, medicare and medicaid will account for 100% of total government revenue/spending in approximately 25 years. When Obama is talking about deficits, he's talking long term.

Obama's main economic advisor is known to be a fiscal hawk. That's during "normal" economic times. There are two reason you run a deficit.
1. A declared total war
2. An economic crisis

I want to take a moment to remind you that approximately half the banking system is likely to be insolvent right now and investors are still in a panic. This time is history is one of the few times that full retard deficits are not only allowed, but actually good for the economy.

The FED has pumped approximately 2.5 trillion dollars via asset backed loans into the economy. TARP has put something like 550 Billion into the economy. TALF is proposing an additional 1-1.5 Trillion. This alone kept our GDP from plunging into an abyss, but it's not enough. Investors are in panic mode. The consumer is in panic mode. When no one is willing to spend and/or invest, the government can act as the spender/investor of last resort to keep the economy running until things are fixed.

So, no, Obama's deficit spending is NOT the same as the deficit spending of Bush. Obama actually has a genuine emergency he's trying to take care of.

So what do you call 9/11?

Not a legitimate emergency?

JQPublic: The last count I saw was that the United States has something ridiculous like 100,000 law enforcement officers...

Think his head will asplode when he finds out that the U.S. has over 830,000 law enforcement officers?

Your numbers are correct, I'm not sure where I read that 100,000 number but it is wrong and I apologize for posting it. At the same time, I don't think that my head will asplode by having that mistake corrected. In fact, let's see how you react when you think about how insignificant less than a million law enforcement personnel actually is when compared to the 300 million (plus) people living in the United States. To make this simple for you, that equals out to one law enforcement officer for every 300 plus citizens.

Does the name Custer have any significance in your reality?

Do you honestly think that if we systematically tear down the safety net the law enforcement people we have will be able to stave off the millions of starving, armed, people who decide to erupt in violence?

Don't really read the papers much, do you?
