Always a good choice for drunken karaoke bar escapades.

Spiffy indeed.

/a nervous tic motion of the head to the band

That is one great set of pipes she's got! (I'm talking about her voice you pervs!)

Big Red Al [TotalFark] 2009-04-25 06:24:45 PM
That was awesome, subby! Thanks!

Great way to test the local cops' response time.

I like Scissor Sisters' version of "Comfortably Numb".

SuperTramp [TotalFark] 2009-04-25 07:07:59 PM
Stunning rendition, thanks subby though now I'm suddenly craving a Cheech-n-Chong movie and activity set.

Where is Clare Torry (the singer who sang this on DSOTM?)

Warchild [TotalFark] 2009-04-25 07:08:17 PM
She sings from her diaphragm

Warchild: She sings from her diaphragm

That's disgusting man. The microphone was no where near her vagina.

Dupa [TotalFark] 2009-04-25 07:13:08 PM
That was excellent. Anyone know where I can get the lyrics?

andrewagill 2009-04-25 07:14:46 PM
We need to get this woman to sing this song. And everything else she sang.

/I miss her.
//I think the woman in subby's video is the only one who could even come close.

Sounds like some screaming fat chick. Ooof, that was hard to listen to.

That was freakin awesome. You whippersnappers calling her a "screaming fat chick" obviously never played that 8-track endlessly in yer '74 Pintos, and you have a lot to learn. She nailed it.

Was hoping it was Tom Waits.

lantawa [TotalFark] 2009-04-25 07:46:12 PM
Very nice. The timbre of her voice and the resonance of her voice are modestly more pirecing than the wonderful original renditions, but kudos and a very good job to the vocalist and the band, and to subby.

platkat [TotalFark] 2009-04-25 07:54:24 PM
That was fantastic. Thanks, subby.

ifrog 2009-04-25 07:55:24 PM
funny that it takes stuff like to remind how utterly farking awesome pink floyd is. though it has alot of influences, i think of pink floyd as a genre. a genre with only one band.

it takes alot of nuts to even attempt a cover like this, and that speaks volumes. wish i had the time to listen to floyd more. i will need to block off some time, as i only ever listen to it one almbum at a time, as it was meant to be heard. sadly, no one has an attention span for that kind of thing anymore.

at any rate, i consider it a priveledge to have spent my only time on earth during a time which allows me to enjoy stuff like this.

/we now return you to your regularly scheduled fat chick jokes

Not bloody bad.

ZAZ [TotalFark] 2009-04-25 08:18:22 PM
Good performance.

For part of the song she appeared to be screaming at a fly she was trying to brush away from her.

Thanks for ruining my evening with that mental image.

doctorwormwood 2009-04-25 08:27:54 PM
meh.. I hate that song... All the Gospel and backup singers ruined the band... they used to be great groove based until some genius dumped oversinging bullshiat over everything after Darkside

Third_Uncle_Eno 2009-04-25 08:28:54 PM
i was thinking either Beyonce or Neko Case.

I remember the time when my mom barged into my room to see if I had a girl that was making that noise. I only wish...

OgreMagi 2009-04-25 08:38:38 PM
I've seen Pink Floyd in concert at least a half dozen times. She's better than the singers they've used.

No.

She's got a hellacious set of pipes certainly, but it's not the same.

Have to agree. The original is just too perfect.

If you ever use those two names in the same sentence again, I will stab you in the face.

ummm....
whoops.

my bad. :-(

[runs away and hides]

/ you like Neko Case, eh?
I have the New Pornographer's "Twin Cinema" LP... most of it is pretty good. Neko is a pretty good singer, and dayum hawt to boot.
that band [N.P.] got me into Destroyer [ie. Dan Bejar, or however you spell his name]. i really like "Destroyer's Rubies" and maybe half of "Trouble in Dreams". yup, i have both on vinyl lol :-P]

I'm not sure whether that's a thing of horror, or something that Devo would want, or perhaps both.

I'm terrified either way.

Things unlikely to be improved upon:

Great Gig in the Sky.

"Under Pressure" by Freddie Mercury and David Bowie.

Damn near anything by Tina Turner.

Lemme put it to you this way, I've been married for almost 13 years and have a wife whom I love to death and is incredibly hot. That said, I would leave her in a second if Neko showed up at the door. I'm serious. I can't even bust out my vinyl of Blacklisted without her getting jealous. Neko's voice.. her laying under that van...

Ahem. Anywah, I too have Trouble in Dreams on wax and I enjoy it on my free days when my wake and bake starts to wear off and I need that certain something to get me going.

Too much information, but there ya go...

I just did a G.I.S. for "Neko Case" and i came across this:
maybe you've seen it before, maybe you haven't. i liked the pics, so i'm pretty sure you most likely would too.
