Meh. Can't work up the rage in support of a 17 year old that still doesn't have a drivers license and took his parents car without permission.

I doubt a few extra days in jail will really impact this kid's life.

Usually, before I sign a piece of paper with terms in which my violation of them means a free visit to a concrete box, I check for errors first.

I agree with beautifulbob

This kid needs to grow and take responsibility for his actions

Maybe this will help him crossover into manhood .. maybe not

A few days in jail probably would do him so good in terms of understanding the consequences of doing dumbass stuff.

Imagine if he cracked the car up and killed someone. Or did so while sucking on a 40 and killed a kid and the mom getting groceries. What does that do to the family and their financial picture. Lawsuits one after another...no insurance, lose the house, distress and embarrassment for the family...living with the knowledge and killing someone.

Kids need to grow up a little bit slower. Put away the ipod, cell phone, laptop, skateboard.

Get a haircut..get a job...volunteer...read a book...

and get the hell off my lawn

That is probably one of the FUNNIEST description/tie-ins with a two-hour-plus-pain-terry-gilliam-film I have read in a long time.

I'm still smarting from laughing so much!!

Suede head 2009-04-25 08:36:44 AM
Now they've got the whole country cordoned off, Can't make a move without a 27B/6. Bloody paperwork!

Interestingly, the Harry Tuttle character is something of a hero in nutjob rightwing militia circles, the kind of people who perpetrated the Oklahoma City bombing.

bustle in my hedgerow: Lawsuits one after another...no insurance, lose the house

You can't sue for injury (including death) in NZ; NZers gave up the right to sue in exchange for a mandatory government-run insurance scheme.

There'd be a criminal prosecution, and that's it.

/Your family member's injury or death, whilst sad, is not your get-rich-quick opportunity

Imagine if he hadn't hurt anybody. Then what? Nothing. Wow. Novel concept. It's not a crime if you don't hurt somebody. Brilliant!

I didn't think I needed to localize my comment to New Zealand. Although I am sure most Farkers regularly cite NZ's right to sue laws in daily life...

Furthermore I was conjecting.

Anyone have a problem with conjecting.

Poor decision making does not know political boundries.

You can be dumbass anywhere

Doing all of that gets you absolutely nothing in life.
