Sad? That's awesome!

It's not like OK has a better band. Anyway, they have a couple good songs even though most of their work is boring.

/before you flame, I own two of their albums, including Yoshimi. I am familiar with their work. OK?

brap [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 09:48:40 PM
I saw them when I didn't have chest fur. They were a more than okay feedback band back then. I dug it.

Holy shiate, appparently they have gone the distance and recently played the D.C. Mall to a gazillion peeps. More power to them.

I don't know about bands, but if you want to open it up to individuals, there was some guy named Woody Guthrie.

I didn't see it in this article, but the reason the House rejected it was because one of the band members wore a hammer and sickle shirt at the Oklahoma State Capital last month.

I recently sold a slightly used one for about $70. I've never seen a sealed go for more than $150 or so, mostly less. You should save your money for Hit To Death...

Nothing more than $100 on ebay in the last month. Nothing more than $203 on popsike... ever. Even that is too much. It wasn't a rare record to begin with. I'm sure there is some kind of direct correlation to the price of Soft Bulletin to hipster kid's allowances.

Well, a whole bunch of butt hurt fans always jump in and defend their band's honor, and/or chew out subby. Then they proceed to get in a flame war with someone who just randomly trolls like saying "Flaming Lips suck monkey balls."

Which pretty much describes all the music tab topics. Insert Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Nickelback, Coldplay, U2, Fall Out Boy, Eminem as needed.

It also works on the Geek tab, Politics tab, etc.

Just replace your favorite band with Apple/Microsoft or Republicans/Democrats.

Whatever gets the clicks and page views I guess. It just gets kind of irritating when headlines are more troll bait than amusing or clever.

clownyclownzomby 2009-04-24 10:08:42 AM
There was an eccentric Oklahoma millionaire named Wes Brunson, now deceased, who funded the early Soft Machine (with Daevid Allen) while they were in Europe. Allen went on to form Gong who are an obvious influence on the Lips. I just like the Lips 'cause my wife is in their latest DVD. She's the "zoo lady". There is probably some farker out there who has fapped to it.

I don't think you know what boring music sounds like.

Or what the word "most" means.

Our legislature, on the other hand, is primarily composed of idiotic bigoted asshats.

I'd rather see threads about "top albums of 2009 so far," top 10 under appreciated albums, etc. There's plenty of Farkers who really know their stuff, it would be cool to peer inside their record crates. Just sayin' I wish we could have more "like" and "recommend" threads as opposed to another Coldplay super flame war.

The Flaming Lips are a great band who write good music and give awesome shows - but they suck at playing their instruments. Still, all the haters on here have shiat for musical tastes.

The Lips are second in quality of stage show to one man: G G Allin. Defecation, sex acts, and mutilation on stage trumps dousing oneself in fake blood to belt out old Sabbath tunes.

They kicked the lips songs out because they are "LOL LIBERAL SOCIALISTS" musicians. And Oklahoma is the most republican state after utah.

Actually, they are the most solidly "red" state in the union. In the presidential election of the past November, not one county in Oklahoma state was carried by the guy with the (D) after his name.

the first "the" in the second sentence, that is.
