When I was a schoolboyl we had a rocking unit that would change names every few gigs. You haven't lived until you've shouted "WE'RE THE LIONS OF JUDAH (could be anything really) - AND WE'RE HERE- TO ROCK YOU! UNO DOS TRES CUATRO! over the screams of adoring fans shouting YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME - THAT'S IT - WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!

Oh, I forgot the opening tune - our only cover...

I'm not saying that I'll love youuuuuuu.
I'm not saying that I'll care. If you love me.
I'm not saying I'll be true I'm not saying I'll love youuuu...
If you love me.

I know it's one of those "you had to be there" stories. It's a lot more fun if you're opening for Fang.

Mr. Bungle's California is one of the greatest sounding records of the last 20 years.
Period.

I agree with you; they're great in-studio. Not so much live; of course, that's how I feel about Rush too.

I saw FNM with Helmet at Western Illinois University back about 100 years ago. Jim Martin kissed my friend-girl on her 16th birthday. My brother was the only person to stage dive.

Well, with the whole Phil Spector thing resolved...

Sweet Charity. Heard it once and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

Patton just did the music for Crank High Voltage, i thought it was appropriate considering its cracked out pace.

Saw FNM as the opening act for Billy Idol. They were awesome.

i'm sure those bands would like it all, but they are just not going to get it.

Saw FNM in 1995 @ the Tower Theater in Philly.

I remember the opening band "Steel Pole Bathtube" got boo'ed off stage.

Patton invited like 30 fans from the front row to sit on the stage for two songs.

/best ever.. Love FNM

Does Dillinger Escape Plan belong on that list? I thought Mike Paton just did that one album with them.

"Does Dillinger Escape Plan belong on that list? I thought Mike Paton just did that one album with them."

it was only an ep, "Irony is a dead scene," but it was awesome. They recorded it during the short time when Dillinger was between singers. For my money he was the best singer they ever had.

Yeah, that EP is really much better than everything else they've done.

I really want a new Lovage record. In my opinion, it's the best non-Mr. Bungle thing that Patton has done. Peeping Tom was crap.

That EP was their weakest material in my opinion. Everyone has one.

6 posts to a Rush troll.

Faith No More was good enough to open for Metallica and Guns n Roses at the Alamodome (and several other arenas).

I saw Tomahawk open for Tool back on the Lateralus tour.

Worst band I've ever seen and/or heard, by far. There's awful, and then there's Tomahawk.

I wasn't trying to be a Rush troll; I enjoy their studio albums, and have a couple of live CDs, but I have to be in a mood to listen to them. I saw them last year on their "Snakes & Arrows" tour, and while it was an okay show, I just didn't find myself getting into them. The crowd was energetic, and so was the band, but I just couldn't bring myself to fully enjoy them at that moment.
Maybe it was the wealth of newer material they played, maybe I wasn't in the right mood, but to me, they're better sounding on studio albums.

I'd rather see a Mr. Bungle reunion more than a Faith No More reunion at this point.

Just wanted to drop a little love in here for Dub Trio and the work Patton did with them.

Carry on.

fark all the haters, greatest metal band of all time.

regarding tomahawk, you have to be a real man with balls of steel and vaginal juices dripping off your dick to enjoy them. if you can't get into them, it's ok. you're just a goddamn pussy with no spinal fortitude and a distinct lack of gumption and sticktoitiveness.

Greg Puciato is the Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist now. He's pretty good. Tomahawk owns. I love hearing John Stanier play drums again, even if it's not with Helmet.

Greg Puciato sings for Dillinger now. I think he attempts to channel Patton, but he's pretty good despite this.

I think they're almost unlistenable. It's one of those bands like Soylent Green, where I can get through 2 or 3 tracks at most, although I appreciate their musicianship. I saw them open for Mr.Bungle in 1999 and I know the guy who filled in for Ben on guitar a few years ago, when Ben was injured.

Was Disco Volante recorded analog or digital? I know California was recorded analog, but they never released it on vinyl. WTFark?
