I remember when SP was my favorite band. I really miss those days.

WaltzingMathilda [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 12:54:08 PM
As a huge SP fan, I can't defend this.

But it's not him rapping subby.

TwistedIvory [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 01:00:23 PM
Ouch, that really is pretty bad. I was expecting it to be listenable, but really, this is terrible.

LandStander [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 01:05:24 PM
Wow. That's pretty bad.

MuckSP [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 01:51:53 PM
What is this, like the 5th stop this month for the Billy Corgan FailTrain?!

/used to be a huge SP fan as well
//got embarrassed douchechills watching that

BobtheFascist 2009-04-23 01:56:12 PM
That's not rap. It's spoken word.

MaxxLarge [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 02:25:53 PM
Despite all my rage, I am still just a post on a page.

aegisalpha [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 02:38:42 PM
Man, I loved that song too.

snarkysedai 2009-04-23 02:46:51 PM

Played outness is boringness and boringness is overness and overness is tired and spent just like you

I pretty much was always embarrassed of being a huge SP fan, mostly because of how fanboyish other fans could get.

Now I'm just embarrassed of having been such a huge fan because of how Corgan has turned out to be.

Despite all his rage, he is still just a brat on a stage.

The key is to not let too much of your personal identity interfere with, or be defined by, music that you enjoy.

darkhorse23: Despite all his rage, he is still just a brat on a stage.

Win!

This abject failure is all part of the grand scheme to hit rock bottom and then engineer a glorious recovery allowing him to make more money than he possibly could have if he kept on with the not sucking in the first place.

If you do not let music interfere with your personal identity and how you live life, you're not listening to music the way it should be. Take me, when you look at my teenage years, you've got to wonder: what came first, the music or the misery?

People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

That's odd. Because I love music and listen to almost all genres. I must be a chameleon then.

Nevermind. I'll go listen to Sonic Death Monkey now.

I liked it.

Then again, i have never found fault with anything Billy Corgan has done, so i might not be the best judge.

I missed the reference the first go 'round. I'M SLOW.

/does, however, think it is unfair to criticize a formerly great artist for his latter day sins

Do you? When they were my favorite band I was 16. I definitely do not miss those days.

jonasborg [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 05:57:58 PM
Future Embrace was very listenable. Blinking With Fists, a big failbook.

hourheroyes 2009-04-23 05:59:21 PM
I don't think you can call that rapping.

ConnieLingus 2009-04-23 06:03:53 PM
people, this was for farkin' wrestling. Complain if he puts out an album like this.

TeddyRooseveltsMustache [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 06:11:59 PM
Billy Corgan tries to sound edgy and cool. But he winds up sounding like that annoying kid from high school who liked to share his shiatty poems with anyone within hearing distance.

carmody 2009-04-23 06:12:19 PM
I will never be able to figure out what anybody ever saw in this band post-Gish. Sub-high-school-freshman poetry backed by insipid music played by a narcissistic stooge and his drugged-out second bananas. Pass.

That wasn't bad at all. You guys are a bunch of drama queens.

It wasn't great, but it was a commercial for something he enjoys doing. You make it sound like he stuttered through the song or something.

subtlehavok 2009-04-23 06:52:35 PM
Jesus...remember when corgan at least had some integrity? I mean, hes always been a prick, but WRESTLING PROMOS? Good god, talk about appealing to the lowest common denominator.

Thelyphthoric 2009-04-23 07:03:22 PM
Compared to the quasi-rap middle section in the acoustic-funk version of "Sex Farm" I heard live by Tap the other night, this is worse than a steaming pile.

Riotboy 2009-04-23 07:10:31 PM
At least James Iha is still cool.

/The Boy > all

earbleach.

sonic232 2009-04-23 07:42:32 PM
That lyric always rubbed me the wrong way: "Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage". Ugh, just sounds super cheesy but I still like the song.

Tatsuma [TotalFark] 2009-04-23 07:55:27 PM
To be fair, Zero and BWBW are probably their weakest singles. I mean, seriously, even the Machina ones were better.

Try Try Try was pretty good, in fact. SIYL as well.

He's actually a big wrestling fan.

Sigh. I used to love SP too. I suppose my username gives it away. I've moved on, we all have to move on.

Though I am hoping Jimmy goes on to do something rocking (not heroin), he's got so much talent.

jaundice_joplin 2009-04-23 08:20:48 PM
Is he going to join ICP now?

ArturoBandini 2009-04-23 08:56:26 PM
I read the headline as "Billy Corgan raping 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings'"

And yeah, that would be correct, too.

Millzners 2009-04-23 08:58:59 PM
The trick is, you simply disassociate what you just saw there from the person who created some of the greatest albums of the 90's. It's not the same person, that was a pale bald imposter.

makes me glad that i was never a fan and have always considered him douchey.

Was that supposed to be rapping? I thought it was like the TNA slam poetry moment.

Wow, Fark really hates Billy Corgan. I think he's the most (un)popular person in this tab.

/Really, every a link about him single day?
//Not a SP fan
