Actually that really doesn't say much, by the standards of the last 8 years, Nixon would be considered left of center.

While true, it should also be noted that it's probably more common for "private" lands (owned and logged by the same company) to be replanted than "public" lands. Also, replanting doesn't take place the day following a clearcut, and planted trees aren't always easy to see from the air (or even the highway).
