Shepherd Smith is one of the few on FNC who strikes me as an actual journalist. Brit Hume used to, years ago, but he started blurring the line between reporting and pundit-izing, like most others on that channel, and he lost me. And I agree re: Katrina; I remember actually choosing to watch Smith over the other networks during all that.

They wrote me back letting me know they appreciate my concern and will consult with Fox on the matter, but no fine or penalty can be imposed because cable television censorship is, for the most part, self-regulated.

Yeah, the full quote is "We are America! I don't give a rat's ass if it helped! We do not f**king torture!" He was definitely saying that we shouldn't be torturing, not that it never happened.

We are America. We'd like to think that we don't torture, but we pretty much have in major battle actions, though not as much as others but maybe just a little.

Well, right before he says that line he says "I don't give a RATS ASS if it helps." I would say he doesn't like torture and feels we shouldn't.
