And to hell with Israeli influence on American politics. It should be the other way around since we give them a bunch of our shiat.

lols from this humorously developing hot, totally farked up mess

Dem Rep Jane Harman did in fact urge The New York Times not to publish its big expose of Bush-era warrantless wiretapping

Then she can't remember any phone call, except later in the interview
we'll see what I may or may not have said four years ago in conversations with an advocacy group like AIPAC or any other groups about the chairmanship of the intelligence committee or anything else. It's totally proper for members of Congress to talk to advocacy groups and our constituents; that's part of our job...
I'm saying that, No. 1, I don't know that there was a phone conversation. If there was and it was intercepted, let's read exactly what I said to whom. We don't know who that was either.
I can't recall with any specificity a conversation I may have had four years ago. That is why I have asked Attorney General Holder to release any transcripts that he has that involve wiretaps of me. And, by the way, there's a question about whether they were legal, and there's another question about whether other members of Congress, who also talk regularly to advocacy groups and constituency groups, might have been picked up and may be wiretapped even now or maybe I'm even wiretapped now.
Then here comes the memory
I mean, the person I was talking to was an American citizen.... Well, I know that anyone I would have talked to about, you know, the AIPAC prosecution would have been an American citizen. I didn't talk to some foreigner about it.
Jane, you ignorant slut.

I have to say, this is a fun little infight among people who aren't 'Israel is the King of Kings' non-Republicans. Do I like having an ally in the Middle East to take the heat off of us? Yes.

Do I like having MegaGodzillaWolfBergStein sending us into this-n-that ham fearing country? No.

Even though I will freely admit to voting for Hopey McChange, Democrats like this douche need to go.

You serve America, whore.

/I am still against wire-tapping, and do appreciate Israel as the least retarded country in the region

FTFL: this morning to Attorney General [Eric] Holder asking him to release any transcripts of any interceptions of my conversations without any redactions - that means don't cross anything out - to me and my intention is to make them public, and then we'll see what I may or may not have said four years ago in conversations with an advocacy group like AIPAC or any other groups about the chairmanship of the intelligence committee or anything else. It's totally proper for members of Congress to talk to advocacy groups and our constituents; that's part of our job.

Oh, this is going to be fun. Can she still receive her Congressional pension in PMITB prison? That'll buy her a legion of girlfriends.

Action Replay Nick [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-04-22 03:12:42 AM
Funny how this wasn't released, like, October 2008, and is instead being made public now, while the party of the traitor in question is in full control of the government.

Would have been a hell of a blow to the opposition party for Republicans before the elections. Makes you wonder who really gives a damn about the country.

NewportBarGuy: Oh, this is going to be fun. Can she still receive her Congressional pension in PMITB prison? That'll buy her a legion of girlfriends.

I'm not entirely sure thats a ploy or not. I'm not sure Eric Holder can release the transcripts of a wiretap that she was not the subject of and was inadvertently caught on.

Eric Holder, BTW, was caught in his own Israeli fark-job.
(Israelis Lobbied for Fugitive Rich's Pardon)
In the last week, those defending the pardon have offered Clinton's desire to help Israel as an explanation for what many have called inexplicable. Last Friday, at a House Government Reform Committee hearing on the Rich matter, former Deputy Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said that he changed his position on the Rich pardon after he heard about Israel's support of it.

Holder testified that after speaking to Rich lawyer and former White House counsel Jack Quinn about the pardon on Jan. 19 (the day before the pardon was granted), "I received a phone call from the White House counsel, Beth Nolan, asking me my position. I am not sure if it was Ms. Nolan or Mr. Quinn who brought to my attention that Prime Minister Barak had weighed in strongly on behalf of the pardon request, but this assertion really struck me. With that significant piece of new information I ultimately told Ms. Nolan that I was now 'neutral, leaning towards favorable' if there were foreign policy benefits that would be reaped by granting the pardon."
------
(Eric Holder is disqualified by the Marc Rich pardon)
...It suggests that Holder, whatever his other qualifications, could not say no to power. The Rich pardon request had power written all over it -- the patronage of important Democratic fundraisers, for instance. Holder also said he was "really struck" by the backing of Rich by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and the possibility of "foreign policy benefits that would be reaped by granting the pardon." This is an odd standard for American justice, but more than that, what was Holder thinking? That U.S.-Israeli relations would suffer? Holder does not sound naive. He sounds disingenuous.

-------------------------

And, by the way, members of Congress have been calling my office this morning, asking whether, perhaps, in their own conversations with advocacy groups like AIPAC or any other group, which we have a perfect right to talk to, maybe they were inadvertently picked up on some kind of an eavesdrop, with or without a warrant. Oh Noes! Congress worried?
Guess all that wiretapping is only good for us plebs, eh?

NewportBarGuy [TotalFark] 2009-04-22 03:25:55 AM
Party Boy: Guess all that wiretapping is only good for us plebs, eh?

In all honesty, the Rich pardon was about cash money, the conspiracy stuff plays well, but it was about money. Bill made a lot of money by doing that. No matter what anyone at Justice said he was going to do it. That's a reason he's not in my list of decent politicians. He milked the greatest get rich quick scheme evar. From -$ several million to +$135 million in 8 years. Great Success.

The fact that this biatch voted for the wiretapping bill and is now biatching about its results is just beautiful. NEVER give the government absolute power over ANYTHING, that is Civics 101. She is taking the crash course. I just find the whole thing wonderful. You can never speak truth to power to the extent that a bill someone voted for bites them in the ass. It's perfect.

Party Boy [TotalFark] 2009-04-22 03:31:31 AM
NewportBarGuy: n all honesty, the Rich pardon was about cash money

I'm not a monocausal guy. I dont usually see things work on one motive. (usually). I'd say its a mix of things here. Money, Israel, Power were clear factors that can be cited re: Rich pardon.

NewportBarGuy: The fact that this biatch voted for the wiretapping bill and is now biatching about its results is just beautiful.

i head this yesterday on the way home from work.

Who in the fark does this biatch think she is? She sounded like she knew she was in deep shiat and the host(i think Robert Siegel) kept saying shiat like, "So you knew you were doing it? So you don't remember it or do you?" You could tell he was completly farking with her and was trying to get her to trip up.

It was pretty cool. Robert Siegel did an excellent job of interviewing her. Probably the best political gotcha interview i've heard on NPR.fark that biatch and fark AIPAC. They are shiatheads (I have nothing against Israel in general, but they do tend to have some backstabbing, sleazy farks stuck up in our government).

MugzyBrown [TotalFark] 2009-04-22 08:28:49 AM
Her interview on NRP was hilarious.

She was basically saying: I don't remember unless it was really taped, then I may remember something.

And she was 'outraged' that she wasn't told if she was under investigation... the reporter even said.. well they don't usually tell you when they're investigating you.
