"Everybody not worry about the small penis country which pulls this crap every year without fail".

God, they're such a living joke... it's kind of sickening.

Meh. He does this every so often until we give him money and tell him we still think he's sexy.

North Korea said Saturday any sanctions or pressure applied against it following its rocket launch earlier this month will be considered a "declaration of war."

with no infrastructure to speak of, an antiquated military machine and a starving population, he's not really in a position to wage a war against anyone.

No; but a lot of people, mostly North Koreans, will die pointlessly, and nobody wants that.

Confabulat [TotalFark] 2009-04-18 10:23:18 AM
Kim Jong Il is a propagandist for the people first and foremost. In the minds of most North Koreans, they are locked in a bitter struggle against the US right this very minute.

This is all just part of that illusion.

I wonder how true that is. I think most of them really don't care about the US one way or the other.

hubiestubert [TotalFark] 2009-04-18 11:29:26 AM
Guess they really must be getting hungry in North Korea. At least the US has a tendency to rebuild countries that it knocks the crap out of. Might be getting to the point where the North Koreans are thinking it's time to hop on that gravy train...

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2009-04-18 11:58:04 AM
I can't imagine Il would start a war and not try to nuke at least Seoul, assuming he really has a working nuclear weapon. What are the odds his scientists gotten the weapon small enough to fit into a rocket with decent accuracy?

Archie Goodwin [TotalFark] 2009-04-18 12:10:33 PM
Fine. Go to war, Kim, and when you do we will cut off ALL food aid & fuel supplies. Tomorrow when you surrender it will be on our terms.

cryinoutloud [TotalFark] 2009-04-18 12:15:32 PM
You know what--I don't care about North Korea either. Go away, you whiny little psychopath.

SpinStopper [TotalFark] 2009-04-18 12:23:28 PM
Finally lost it?

Kim Jong Il has been happily dumping sugar in his own gas tank for years. Then blaming us for it, then dumping in some more ... ;)

Considering they've had issues with making suitable concrete for a building? I'd say the odds are slim.

is dying swiftly in a pointless war better than dying slowly of starvation at the whim of a madman?

I just hope i'm never placed in a position to find out.

Well, you have to admit that if they learned to tap the same resource that he uses to manufacture righteous indignation, and used it to make weapons, electricity, food, etc., we'd soon be all out of thin air ;)

I know I'm arguing against real-world trolls, but srsly:

The "'South Korea-U.S. military alliance' oft-repeated by them is, in essence, nothing but a 'war alliance' and 'alliance for aggression' aimed at invading the DPRK," the report said.

If the US wanted to invade you, YOU WOULD BE DEAD NOW.

I'm not worried at all, because they won't nuke my town.

Nemo's Brother 2009-04-18 01:19:21 PM
I would love the North Koreans to be able to live one day in the life of the average South Korean. Instead of chewing on tree bark, they can go work and enjoy a day of peace of prosperity. It would completely ruin Kim Jong Il's reign.

They don't need to nuke Seoul. They unfortunate fact is that their army, while horrendously ill-equipped and under-trained still has enough artillery pieces pointed at Seoul to utter devastate the city in a few salvos. They may have stones to our guns, but the stones tend to be very large and near limitless.

Disgusting. No wonder intelligent life hasn't made contact with us yet. We're insane.

By Monday president Obama will be laying the blame for all of the problems of North Korea on the USA.
Then he will offer to give them about $50 billion in stimulus money so Li'l Drunk Kim can buy more booze.

I imagine we'll be seeing a big picture of a smiling Obama shaking this little pracks hand (kinda like Hugo)and apologizing before too long. It's time to toss SK under the bus along with Eastern Europe, Israel and all of the political prisoners in Iran, China, Cuba.....etc....etc

I guess our new coalition is the one Hugo has been working on. Hugo, Iran, NK, China and the Russians. I hope they let us in!

You would think there proximity to a hostile nation they would do something similar to the British during WWII and invest in bomb shelters no?

I always wonder what it will be like for your average North Korean person who, after a lifetime of propaganda presenting the United States as intensely focused in a major ideological battle with the Korean people, realizes that the rest of the world kind of moved on years ago and doesn't pay them much mind. To go from thinking that the world's eyes were constantly fixed upon you to finding out that you were just a quirky little backwater the whole time is going to mess you up -- before you shake it off and go buy a stereo in Seoul, I guess.

Actually, I think they'd hit McDonalds and pig out for a week. THEN they might have a moment of ideological horror....and probably indigestion, both of which would be new experiences for them.

If not for the strength of the Dear Leader, perhaps. You forget, his father single-handedly defeated the Japanese and liberated Korea. Holding back the western imperialists is nothing for him.

They say that he has walked on water, and has turned sand into rice.

...

I guess they ran out of sand.

Wow, did you just start paying attention to history? While there is obviously some serious sarcasm in the original comments, the crux of US policy has been apeasement and the hope that the little prack either dies, or the presidents term expires before the thing explodes. That POS does not understand diplomacy, but I'm sure Obama has some new tricks that will work. Bush wasn't much better than Clinton, but Bill really started us down this road.

The problem with North Korea is that they don't got Seoul.
