Newt had some very nice pre- pre-campaign shots in there.

Even if I disagree with their message, I absolutely think it's great that so many millionaires got together to express their beliefs.

Right? Because you have to believe that the only people protesting Obama's tax plans would be the $250K and up crowd.

Dancin_In_Anson [TotalFark] 2009-04-16 07:55:28 AM
Any word on how many arrests there were nation wide?

Dancin_In_Anson: Any word on how many arrests there were nation wide?

The only arrests were crazy left wingers protesting the fact that people with different beliefs are allowed to protest.

Well, that, or the sort of people who can be manipulated into believing that a top-down party-run effort represents the "grass roots," that a non-plumber stage prop represents the "voice of the people," that Newt Gingrich represents "the voice of moderation," that Sarah Palin represents "ethics in governance," and President Obama is a closeted muslim socialist whose policies within his first three months in office have set this country on a fast track to fascism that have undone all the Progressive changes implemented under the previous two Bush terms, which began right after Clinton allowed 9-11 to happen and ended right before Obama caused the economy to implode.

This is a good post on every level, PN.

This teabagging stupidity was one of the most nauseating manipulations of retarded America I've ever seen. 90% of the people that align themselves with the conservative politicians are the very ones that get hurt the most by them. All you need to do to a huge portion of America is say"(politician X) is going to TAKE YOU GUNS and LET YOU 12 YEAR OLD COUSIN KILL HER BABY!" and they'll swallow any hook you toss them.

Credit to Faux and the GOP for getting on the same page long enough to organize this though. It's the first time in months they haven't trip over each other trying to be the most ridiculous GOPer of the week.

Wasn't Newt the guy that ditched his wife while having an affair with some ditsy bimbo while leading the impeachment process on Clinton for getting a BJ? Yeah, Newt is a credible guy.

I don't know. But some ditzy old broad in my mother's home town fell into the Susquehanna River while trying to throw tea bags into it. So, she had that going for her.

I guess it would have been so much better had he stayed with his wife, not had an affair, not led the impeachment of Clinton for a BJ (it was perjury but let's go with the bj just because) and run up a trillion dollar deficit instead.

Yes because obviously the only taxes paid by American citizens are income taxes.

I tried to ignore the woman with the pig on her head, but I couldn't.

Where did she find the time to make a paper mache pig hat?

It all seemed like a rather bizarre waste of tea. Hopefully they saw fit to use the dollar store brand tea. A nice 5 star Lipton isn't cheap.

"So, if I have this correct, the Americans are buying large quantities of tea to protest what exactly?"

Not nearly as cool as throwing piss filled bags at cops while protesting the IMF or the like but it's a start. Maybe they should hire a few trust fund radicals to teach them how it's done. Peaceful demonstrations are so boring.

It's more of a we're all butthurt about something but we're not sure what protest.

This is all a secret conspiracy to boost tea sales.

And these are all pictures of butthurt republicans who can't stand losing.

This is the latest power play by the GOP to manipulate ignorant people. Just like Abortion and gay marriage and the war on terror.

Welcome to America. What can I get you outraged about today?

They look like the idiot left-wing protesters did over the past 8 years.

Why can't people protest or demonstrate without silly hats and costumes?

"Don't Tax me Bro" was pretty funny though.

Meh... just reposting what I said in another thread:

Drove by the handful of clowns that gathered outside city hall in my city yesterday... all carrying sign biatching about tax increases, socialism, blah, blah, blah.

The irony was that City Hall, which had been built over Rt. 195 back in the early 70s, was completely falling apart (one woman was killed by falling concrete a few years back) and was fixed this past year with all kinds of grants and monies from the state.

Where do these idiots think that money came from?

Yeah, heh, hope they all had fun. It's nice to see the Republicans feel useful for a chance- look at Dancin_In_Anson, this is the happiest I've seen him in months. Trying to defend Newt Gingrich and ignoring the nuance of the situation. Oh, DIA, I know you're an intelligent guy- a conservative much like I used to be- but when you ignore your better judgment to mindlessly cheerlead, you become just as bad as the fundies and neocons that hijacked the Republican party, and thus have become complicit in it's downfall

The money comes the American dream of course. Where a good god fearing white man can live in luxury while blaming the worlds problems on everyone else.

I'm starting to think Governor Perry has the right idea. Texasastan can secede and all the teabagging anti-tax galtist christian nationalists can move down there and start their wonderful little utopian gulch.

Hell, they can take Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and the other right-wing states that perpetually suck off the federal teat, then biatch when they have to pay their disproportionately low share of the burden.

LiquidTester 2009-04-16 08:49:45 AM
Podna: There is always those assholes in every protest who are the "professional protesters" the ones who love an excuse to incite a riot and break shiat

There are people who love to protest and enjoy a good riot and calling they "professional protesters" is pretty accurate. But I've met some people who take the term "professional protester" and think they are paid 6 figures to travel the country holding signs and going on marches. Those jobs don't exist.

How can you call it a protest without giant puppets or the inflated scrotum guy? If you want to see some pictures of real protesting go here. Warning, some pictures are not safe for work and the sixth picture down is not safe for the contents of your stomach.

randomjsa 2009-04-16 08:51:40 AM
It's so nice to see liberals show their true colors and fall right in to rule one of liberal debate: "Well you're just not smart enough or educated enough to know what's good for you. Just shut up and do what you're told peon because you don't know what's best for yourselves and everyone else."

You should probably try to hide that better like Obama did, pity he was being taped when he said it.

Not to mention, the demonstration is more about the crazy spending than taxes.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

He got a blowjob, and he lied under oath. But the accusation that Clinton perjured himself is a right wing myth.

That is the genius of the Republican party. For all we mock them, pulling that off takes some skill. And they aren't finished, they'll be in the majority in 4-8 years when everyone forgets about Bush and we can focus on gays kissing again.

So me advocating smaller government and less of a tax burden on the private sector makes me a "fundie neocon". Tell me, what kind of conservative did you used to be if you weren't a "fundie neocon" that advocated smaller government and less of a tax burden on the private sector.

Perjury requires that the matter being lied about be a material fact. The civil suit Clinton was being sued under had nothing to do with whether or not Clinton did something or other with whomever. Under the relevant statute, the plaintiff had to prove that she was harmed by the conduct. She wasn't, which was why she lost the case. Consequently, Clinton was guilty of lying under oath, which is a (much) lesser charge.
