If we didn't have so many scofflaws in this country, maybe we wouldn't have to worry about our border.

Nah. It's never our fault.

Dirty immigrants have caused everything bad that has ever happened to me.

So does this mean they will now have to donate to the DNC and file their ACORN-absentee ballot BEFORE crossing the border? The article was not clear.

A former U.S. attorney in San Diego, Bersin served previously as "border czar" to former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, the report said.

The same Janet Reno who brought us Waco and Ruby Ridge. And she id a helluva job letting illegals in during the 90's.

Yeah, I'm not a rabid Anti-Bama-ite, but all these Czars are starting to seem like a "step-around" the Senate confirmation process required for Cabinet posts and agency offices.

netcentric 2009-04-15 09:53:20 AM
Hope and Change is now 'appoint Clinton recycles'.

"The "czars" can hold meetings, coordinate Cabinet departments and agencies, brief the president, and review programs and proposals. But at the end of the day, they can't "make" anyone do anything." -Susan Estrich

Unlike Cabinet secretaries, "czars" are not confirmed by the Senate; they don't have to come to Congress for appropriations for their departments; and they may have the ability to invoke executive privilege in order to limit congressional oversight where Cabinet secretaries could not, in Byrd's words, threatening "the Constitutional system of checks and balances . . . "

"As presidential assistants and advisers, these White House staffers are not accountable for their actions to the Congress, to cabinet officials, and to virtually anyone but the president. They rarely testify before congressional committees, and often shield the information and decision-making process behind the assertion of executive privilege. In too many instances, White House staff have been allowed to inhibit openness and transparency, and reduce accountability." -Senator Byrd (D)

Part of the problem?
or part of the cure....?

I think you're reading too much into his comment. Here's a novel idea: next time you see a comment you don't get, leaf it alone and shelve the discussion of it, lest you find yourself in a bind.

You can tell which people get the joke, and those that don't.

Hey, people with a stick in their ass who wanted to pick a fight in the politics tab: Barnes & Nobels is a book store. Borders is a book store. If you don't get it, you fail.

Bersin's a globalist like the rest of 'em.

There will be money spent, arms waved, speeches given, yet the illegals will still stream across the border unimpeded.

img249.imageshack.us

Like the "greatest military in the world" can't protect our southern border. Bullshiat. Both parties want it open, 70% of the electorate want it closed, and the DemoPubs can't figure out why hundreds of thousands of people are so pissed off in general that they're gathering at Tea Parties today.

img249.imageshack.us

Meanwhile, 4 million little anchor babies were born last year and you're supporting them. And there are asshats here who don't have a problem with that. And bigger asshats see no problem in non-citizens voting!

Enforcing laws already on the books would solve the problem, but the politicians (pwnd by big business and/or looking for a voting block) won't allow the laws to be enforced.

They are mainly about the out of control spending our federal government is doing. The majority were against the bailouts, and yet the bailouts passed. The federal government is overstepping the boundaries and need to be brought back.

The Right has run out in front of the parade, the Left is all freaked out because they interpret the Tea Party thing as somehow being anti-Obama, but from what I can tell and the comments I've heard not from MSM but from real people attending, is that it's a grab bag of biatches that covers a wide gamut. But to Nemo's Brother's point, a lot of it seems to be anger at the bankrupting of the country and the effect it has had, and will have on everyone's wallets. (The Left is really missing the boat on this one...but I guess any large gathering that is not about their Savior gives them cause for concern.)

So how come the hosts of these things are hosted by right-wing talk hosts and even Fox News today? They're passing it off as bipartisan but everyone knows its just a bunch of people who would even complain about Obama if GDP grew at record rates with low unemployment and small inflation.

Still like to know where these fiscal conservatives were when Bush spent money like a drunken sailor.

fernt 2009-04-15 01:39:15 PM
Mrtraveler01: So how come the hosts of these things are hosted by right-wing talk hosts and even Fox News today?

Because they're smart enough to take advantage of the situation.

I heard Glen Beck was going to "host" (i.e., speak) at one of these things but then FOX told him just to attend so it wouldn't look like they were driving it.

I personally don't care who is behind it...I'm all in favor of biatching about paying too much taxes and what the taxes are used for no matter who throws the party.

Mrtraveler01: Still like to know where these fiscal conservatives were when Bush spent money like a drunken sailor.

Raking it in.

I believe we've reached a state where there is only one party with two faces and both are filled with self-serving whore criminals who protect each other from scrutiny and when caught, punishment.
