If Fran runs on the Screaming Buttsex Party ticket, she's got my vote!

I sincerely hope all her speeches will be mute.

Son of Thunder 2009-04-15 07:01:48 AM
Here's a test. Try reading this passage and hearing it in her voice (finish it off with her laugh):

"I feel very privileged to be able to articulate my positions and my opinions on a myriad of subjects, and now I've been encouraged by many people in the general public, as well as Democratic funders and high level elected officials on both sides of the party line to seriously consider running,"

Now, imagine trying to endure that pain for the duration of an entire speech. Imagine voting her into office so that she can give lots and lots of such speeches.

I'm pretty sure this one's not going anywhere.

ehheheheheheheheheheh

Don't you think she'd be able to downplay her godawful voice just a little bit?

Also, OP, it took me a minute, but I see what you did there.

OK why the hell when I try to make the little angle bracket and 3 for "love" and then type a word I get white space for all of my message?

Anyway, I love Fran; I hope she runs and wins.

Maybe they should change the seating arrangement in the Senate to accommodate the influx of bone-headed hollywood types like Franken and Drescher:

You put a *greased naked woman* on all fours with a dog collar around her neck, and a leash, and a man's arm extended out up to here, holding onto the leash, and pushing a black glove in her face to sniff it. You don't find that offensive? You don't find that sexist?

Why is she going to start her political career at the highest level, as a United States Senator? Shouldn't she start as an alderman or state senator or something, and actually learn how the legislative system works?

Seems more like an ego thing for her than her actually helping folks, like she claims.

If working in Hollywood disallows you from having political opinions or taking a public position supporting them, then I assume you opposed Charlton Heston figure-heading the NRA and making all those pro-gun speeches?

Better, you prove that she is not one. She is a wealthy, power hungry, America hating, European socialism loving Obama asscrack licker who advocates higher taxes, as her lifestyle will not be affected by them.

She was groveling for the Hillary Senate seat... pathetic. Her attitude, like most of the Hollywood elite of late is "I'm rich... I should be a U.S. Senator."

Heston was a huge Civil Rights advocate. Maybe one of the biggest. Guns are a civil rights issue, free health care is not a civil right.

I supported Heston, he was a great man.

Uhm.... You claim to have examples of her hypocrisy...then you give an example showing she's not an hypocrite. Furthermore, where is your proof that she hates America and loves Europe?

Are the two exclusive? I love Europe, and think thier progressive values are to be admired. I love America and am working to interpret those values into an American framework.

It sounds to me like you're just a troll.

You hate America, that is why you want to change it.

Wrong. He fought for all of them. Especially for blacks.

And no health care is not a right. Also you do not get to use the term "right to life" and twist it to your favor. Right to life means the right not to be murdered.

It's not free healthcare you dimwit. People pay taxes that cover that healthcare...

And wow, are you really saying that people are entitled to guns but not healthcare?

You must be trolling...

rocky_howard: And wow, are you really saying that people are entitled to guns but not healthcare?

umm..guns are a Right, not an entitlement. Everyone has a freedom to health care already. They can purchase insurance too. So now we're just talking about money..spreading the wealth around with a law to pay for health care and whatever else they want to extract from us in taxation...That's an entitlement.

This.

He was marching with Martin Luther King Jr. in support of civil rights back in 1963. That support for civil rights for minorities is in no way inconsistent with his support for gun rights.

In fact, if you look at the history of gun control, it was originally designed to disarm blacks and keep them subjugated, even the laws written fairly recently in race neutral language, so his support for civil rights and gun rights is entirely consistent.

If you think gun control isn't at least partially racist in intent, ask yourself why those places in the US with the strictest gun control laws generally happen to have the highest proportion of blacks.

One could argue that Health Care is a right similar to the right to own a gun: You have the absolute right to it, but that doesn't mean that I am, or should be, required to cough up the money to buy you one.

Yes..that's the bottom line difference. I have to buy my guns, the government doesn't give them to me for free, nor do my neighbors pay for them. Nor do they tell me how to clean them or keep the in parts while the bad guys are raiding my castle...:)

And I buy the health care coverage I want. We could do with some changes for sure but not the government deciding my medical coverages while weighing my tax collecting potential.

Hmmmm... not bad at all.

You have the right to buy your own health care, and that shall not be infringed.

There should be a law that allows the uninsurable or pre-existing conditions people to get coverage though. They may have to pay more, but there should be a recourse for them.

That "right to life" argument really was a stretch, especially for a liberal.
