(Billboard) Interesting Ted Nugent to reunite his first recording band, The Amboy Dukes, which isn't very exciting but a step up from old Nugent material such as "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" and "My love Is Like a Tire Iron"   (billboard.com) divider line 36

Ha! I have that album, it's actually pretty good. More blues and 'psychedelica' than "Ted"

Ted's kind of a douchebag but it's true. Couple of good tracks on there if 60s psychedelia is your thing, notably "Journey to the center of the mind"

It would be great if the band decided to uninvite Ted and replace him with the most liberal left wing guitarist they could find just for the show.

"Sure the band's performing Ted, but the guys and I talked it over and we've decided to use David Crosby instead of you."

I knew a guy in high school who was a huge Ted Nugent fan;
he started his own band and covered Ted's songs.

His girlfriend would come to class with bruises covered with make-up.

"come along if you can..."

pretty decent psychedelia. okay, if long, version of "baby please don't go..." but you're better off listening to the 13 floor elevators or love if you want real american psych-rock. better yet, eat some trucker speed, grab a fifth and put on "talk talk" by sean bonniwell's music machine!

I don't care how repetitive it is, "Scottish Tea" is a farking awesome song.

How about Ted's hit, "I like to marry underage girls and become their legal guardian so I can legally f*ck them causing my first wife to drive herself to her own flaming death and I should be a registered sex offender but I'm not because I carry a lot of guns around mostly to make sure I don't have to register as a sex offender even though I myself believe that all sex offenders should be killed even though I myself, Ted Nugent, am actually a sex offender too, and apparently a hypocritical piece of white trash the likes of which the world has seldom seen?"

That song was good.

That already happened, in 1978, but Ted owns the name.

I've seen him twice in concert. I was never really that big a fan.
Saw him in a little theater in Abilene TX with some blues kid he discovered in Austin. He didn't play any of the "hits". He can jam some blues when he wants to, though. One of the most enjoyable concerts I have ever attended.

Ted's a piece of shiat. I don't disregard bands for their stupid members very often, but I'll make a special case for ol' Teddy.

I'd rather see him reunite his original solo band - they were awesome. Ted, however, has always been a douche. The drummer & rhythm player wrote about half of the songs on Free for All, they got recognition, & Ted couldn't stand it. Next album was all Ted songs, & after the tour he fired them. Then he started barking like a dog & lost all credibility.

Saw him on the free for all tour though, & it was an awesome show.

Terrible because he posted factual information in a humorous way? Or terrible because you and your mullet like to rock out to Cat Scratch Fever and can't take someone pointing out your idol's many flaws?

Damn.
You beat me. I came here to say just that.

"Scottish Tea" is one of the greatest examples of American psychedelic instrumental music ever recorded. Truly epic the way is slowly builds layer after layer of dense cascading parts and has such a lush and swirling effect at its peak.

I put vintage style flatwound strings on both my Fender basses because of that intro. I still enjoy playing those simple bass chords almost every time I pick up my instrument.

The year....1976
The place....The balcony at the hottest Ann Arbor rock bar Second Chance, 15 feet from center stage. Plentiful smoke (you could smoke in public in A2 back then)and plentiful fresh beers.
The event...Ted kicks off the Cat Scratch Fever tour with Derick St James.

My recollection....almost nothing. We were hammered by the time they hit the stage.

I did buy the album tho and thought it was pretty good.

BTW, Segar kicked off his Beautiful Loser tour at the same place about two weeks later and I was in the exact same spot. I think he played Katmandu, but don't hold me to that.

If I was trolling, I wouldn't go after the select group of individuals known as "Ted Nugent Fans." Kind of a wasted effort to piss off three people.

If you mean the "wetbacks", or the "knee-scrapes", the answer is yes.

/knee-scrapes are the cretins who make the dash across the bridge in El Pase during the border guards shift change.
