Dito, I want it too.

His life sounds a bit Forrest Gump-y. Good for him doing what he wants and experiencing lots of different things. He's a brave dude.

Now pity phone booths don't accept incoming calls...
Unless they do in FL.

\starts dialing

And he wants you off it.

/Can't believe no one said it still

He actually sounds pretty cool for a crazy old man.

What is this phone booth you speak of. I think it would inflict pain to sit on it.

What a cool guy. How many of us, if we died today, could truly say, "I lived a full life"? And this fella is still going strong, at age 71, after a dozen heart attacks. He's even back in college, still learning new stuff. I'm inspired.

If we are going to have a "national tree", why make it a silver maple? It's a nice tree, but why not an oak or a sycamore or something like that with a longer lifespan?

This guy has either had a fantastic and wonderful life or is an incredible liar. Either way, farking awesome!

Florida resident...so make the national tree a palm tree.

Palm trees are generally useless and produce no fruit or flowers or wood. The palm tree on the White House lawn would look spectacular for a summer before dying in the first frost.

And then another one can be planted the following year to replace the dead one.

/symbolic of government waste and corruption in an age of bailoutalism...plus materialism!

It would cost about $25,000 to put a palm tree in at the white house.

Well, saying that he's "learning new stuff" is probably a stretch.
His coursework includes sitting in a phone booth.

The best thing about visiting the President is the food! Now, since it was all free, and I wasn't hungry but thirsty, I must've drank me fifteen Dr. Peppers.

To be fair, although this is most likely just an attention whore event, why not plant a tree?

Just throw a few seeds over the White House fence. Y'all will get that tree in a few years time.

The article's link took me to a fake anti-virus scan...which, if you're just joining us, means it's a real virus-laden site. Careful, y'all...

Thank you for the virus scan pop up that took over my computer.

Looks like the entirety of tampabay.com has been turned into virus land..

psychosis_inducing 2009-04-12 05:10:42 PM
Since others are saying it, I guess it wasn't a virus on my computer that made it do that. Stay away from this one, people.

We still have phone -- oh, never mind.

On April 1, Otok Ben-Hvar climbed inside a 1940s-era phone booth with wheels and walked half a mile to the outdoor patio of a produce market. Otok, white-haired and jovial, was equipped with everything he'd need to live inside the red, white and blue booth until his 72nd birthday on April 29.

Phone booth on wheels = fake phone booth. He's got a freaking air conditioner and computer inside it. Someone should cut his electricity.

The ad network they are using has probably been infected by some malware laden banner ads. I didn't see anything pop up when I opened the site in Chrome, however, so maybe they found the bad banner and yanked it.

/Another good reason to run Adblock if you are using FF.

There are no trees there to take away cover from the line of fire.

Your not getting it ever.
