It's not that obscure, but all Fark atheists agree that babies taste good. Now, on recipes for cooking babies, well, that's a whole other story.

That makes more sense to the untrained eye. Yet you bring up the fact that it may be obscure. But it won't be obscure to everyone, because this is fark after all. So the question is, have a missed something that happened on fark? Well, it's possible.

Not all cats are the same. I admit to being a cat colorist. Here is my analysis based on the examination of many cats:

1) Orange and white cats are the smartest.
2) Tuxedo cats have the most personality.
3) White cats often have hearing impairments, but can be nice or mean.
4) Tortoise-shell cats (always female) are often mean, sometimes nice, but are always fragile.
5) Tiger-striped tabby cats are the "average cat," though there is significant variation around this mean.
6) Black cats are almost uniformly mean.
7) Gray and white cats are like tuxedo cats.
8) All other cat colors have random demeanors.

And that concludes my colorist analysis of cat behavior.

The worst thing mine does is wanting her head scratched when i'm trying to shift. She generally just sits on the passenger seat and sheds. Hubby's cat on the other hand is confined to a kitty cage in the car. He freaks out a bit.

I used to own a neon. I'm not sure how you would stack 20 unconscious cats into that car much less roaming ones.

every single one of those (except the useless last one) is the complete opposite of what I have experienced. I mean that literally. I was kind of amazed actually as I went through the list. I do know a lot of cat owners, and am one myself.

so, your anecdotal evidence fails my anecdotal evidence.

Siamese tend to be very smart as well. I will disagree with your black cat one though. I do know several mean black cats, but I had a long-haired black cat that was just the biggest baby, and completely gentle.

1) Our orange and white cat is dumb as a box of rocks, but super sweet.
2) Our tuxedo cat sleeps 22 hours a day.
5) Our tiger striped cat has the most personality.
6) My black cat is a cuddler. He also thinks I'm his mommy.
7) Our gray and white cat is also full of personality, but sometimes can be a little testy.
8) Our calicos are full of personality as well, but they tend to rile things up as often as possible.

Black cats are not all mean. I just lost my 15-year-old black cat to kidney failure, and he was the sweetest, nicest, most intelligent cat I've ever known. He was never once what I'd consider "mean", and was, in fact, a very loving animal and the best buddy I could have asked for. He even asked permission before jumping into my arms.

And my tortoise-shell cat is anything but "fragile" -- She's a big girl, the alpha female of the house, and queen of the sofa. She routinely defends her place against the newest cat.

My white cat is a sweetie unless she's fighting over territory, then she can be a little bit biatchy. She's still a good girl and is very protective of me. She's also got perfectly fine hearing.

I used to have an orange & white cat that was kind of dim-witted, and slightly antisocial.

I got one for you. Tabby and white like this (my cat):

img397.imageshack.us

Tend to be grouchy and aloof. This is by far the most generic cat color I've been exposed to, and every last one of them just as soon bit the crap out of me as got in my lap. Belle will get in my lap, purr, bite me and leave. I got told by a groomer that "all cats with this coloring are prima donnas."

/she also sleeps on my head
//curls up, purrs, then yanks my hair out in the middle of the night

plaidgirl68 2009-04-12 12:38:19 AM
Just like to point out that "tabby" is a marking, not a color. Tabbies have stripes. They can be red (orange) tabbies, brown tabbies, gray tabbies. I've even seen black tabbies (black cats with slightly darker black stripes).

Also, MOST tortoiseshell and calico cats are females, but there are exceptions. The Cat Adoption Team (www.catadoptionteam.org) in Oregon just adopted out a male tortoiseshell this week. It's rare, but it happens.

/yes, i'm a cat lady

I must disagree. My orange & white Franklin is dumber than a bag of rednecks. Great cat, but he just has a problem with getting run over. Twice. In our driveway.

Cat's sturdy as hell, build like a tank (or a speed bump?) but dumb dumb dumb!

Or if you breed a tabby with a Siamese, you get a "Siamese-lynx", or "tabby pointed Siamese". Like mine:

VERY pretty cat!

You can also have "torbies," which are tortoiseshell cats (or calicos) with tabby stripes within the colors.

A friend of mine had a cat like that. Semi-feral that she and her partner adopted. Poor thing was completely terrified of everybody(except my friend) and easily bullied by other cats. She eventually went on to be an only cat to another friend's grandmother which was probably best for her.

As for my experiences with cats. I have a calico, she is a huge brat but very intelligent. She knows the sight and sound of her favorite toy, and get very loud when she wants to play, not very cuddly. Sometimes she'll like to be petted, but not often.

My tuxedo boy is the biggest love muffin ever. And very calm. The vets adore him because he's very calm and so affectionate when I take him in(big contrast to the vast majority of other cats they see) His brother(who I lost in Febuary) was more a black cat than tuxedo(only one patch of white on his belly) was the same way, but calmer and less demanding when he wanted loving
