Those weren't so great -- only one really qualified as a certified Freeper. What would be funnier would be if they statistically analyzed the word choice over at freeperland -- that could make for some hilarious juxtapositions.

MuadDib [TotalFark] 2009-04-11 02:24:58 PM
If those are the "best" they're getting, the right-wing has a lot of work to do to match the level of crazy, unhinged nastiness the left has perfected over the last few years. Heck, a casual Democratic Underground thread about a children's movie would be more entertaining than any of that drivel.

MuadDib: crazy, unhinged nastiness the left has perfected

The whole left? Like everyone? Like Joe Lieberman left? You mean there is not a single reasonable, restrained left-leaning individual? That any viewpoint that has been arbitrarily labeled 'left' is only comprehensible to irrational individuals? Or are silly hyperbolic blanket statements just the last refuge of the incompetent?

/wouldn't pay $5 per month to troll TF -- though it could get pretty epic

No, not the whole left. You're reading way too much into a two sentence comment in a TF thread. Lighten up, Francis.

Dear Daily Kos,
If you would like to portray yourselves as a reputable political news site don't post stupid photoshops of Bush kissing Prince Abdullah.

MuadDib: match the level of crazy, unhinged nastiness the left has perfected over the last few years.

I don't recall anyone on the left ever doing anything that inspired people to kill cops. Some of the biggest shooting sprees or bombings in American history by Americans were directly inspired by right-wing rhetoric. I can't think of an example for leftist rhetoric leading to innocent people being killed.

It's not a political news site. It's a blog. Why does nobody understand this?

Other than Bush having approval ratings as high or higher than Obama at this time in his presidency AND having ridiculously high approval ratings after 9/11...you're totally right.

The left was upset at Bush. It only took the Patriot Act, the firing of DoJ attorneys because they wouldn't partake in partisan witch hunts, Camp X-Ray at Guantanamo Bay allowing for holding detainees indefinitely outside of the guidelines set forth by the US Constitution AND Geneva Convention, torture, illegally spying on American citizens...and, for christ sakes, I didn't even mention starting a ridiculously stupid war based on trumped up intelligence that used a stupid jingoistic attitude to push his agenda.

But hey, if false equivalency gives you the peace of mind to compare that anger with the mind-numbingly stupid whargarble that is being produced because of an unprecedented giant spending package during a massive recession...well, ok then.

Well, that's a very large dose of nonsense. Doubtless a few wingnuts have gone off because of something they heard some right-winger say. But can only assert that that's the exclusive province of rightward rhetoric if you're either willfully ignorant or a liar. If you really don't know, start with Marcus Foster, Oakland, CA, 1973. That would be an example.

The ideology that inspired these people is irrelevant. Crackpots and true believers do what they do because of their own choices, not because they listened to Rush, of Keith Olberman, or the Beatles.

MuadDib: Doubtless a few wingnuts have gone off because of something they heard some right-winger say.

If you're talking about liberals, I believe the proper terminology is "moonbat". "Wingnut" is short for "right-wing nut-job". I'm not sure what "moonbat" is supposed to mean, like most wingnut bullshiat I suspect it doesn't mean anything.

You don't read too well, do you? You apparently can't even read the short fragment you quoted. Why would I say a lefty would go off because of something a right-winger said? Since I am not a moron, I wouldn't. And, of course, even if you missed it in the bit you quoted, the rest of my post made that even more obvious. So, no, that part of my post wasn't about liberals.

I won't engage in a semantic argument with you about how and to what the phrase wingnut applies since anyone within shouting distance of average intelligence and a basic grasp of English could easily divine my meaning in the instant case. When one of them shows up, I might consider re-engaging in this heretofore insipid debate (though probably not; it's all wanking really and it bores one quickly). Enjoy your weekend.

That's rather creative.

A few months ago some guy shot up a church and a Christian school. He was a left-winger.

Stepping outside this country, the murder of millions in the Soviet Union was inspired by left-wing rhetoric.

so they equate kos with news, cause otherwise they would have to question fox

Speaking of DU, I really miss the hate mailbag they used to run as a semi-regular feature. If there's anything we lefties love, it's making fun of semi-literate attackers on the other side. Some of us even build successful programs on cable news networks on that premise...

Tranquil Hegemony 2009-04-11 05:28:41 PM
I think it's because the right wing does put up bullshiat "news sites", like World Nut Daily, NewsMax, News Busters, etc. They're not blogs, they're news sites - they have articles with no comments, and I can't post my own articles there. And then they play the false equivalency game.

msannomalley [TotalFark] 2009-04-11 05:29:39 PM

You mean the one who owned copies of Billow's and Savage's and Hannity's books? The one who said that if he couldn't get the liberals in Congress, he'd get the ones who voted for them? The one that targeted that particular church because it was too liberal?

Yeah, he was a real left-winger.

I love the "there are no liberals in the military" argument. It is very entertaining.

This is no different than Hannity putting on his most ridiculous callers as if they represent all liberals.

But it is pretty funny. . .

WhackingDay 2009-04-11 05:46:26 PM
Not to add to the wingnuttery or anything, but I think a lot of these "true patriot" will be rather surprised at the number of liberals out there willing to take them on "when the civil unrest begins".
