Yeah, you have to be pretty wasted for gold face paint and shades like those to become an option.

I was talking about his life trajectory, joining the "27 Club" a year after this was filmed.

Cobain's is hilarious: "Officially ruled a suicide by shotgun".

"Officially," as if there is still some conspiracy doubts.

The Stones at this point were just pure, delicious evil, and this video reeks of badassery.

Oh, and yes, Mick and Keith definitely had Brian taken care of.

It was Brian's band, and his condition had become a huge liability to them and a great impediment to their further success. I think it probably broke their hearts to do it, but getting him out of the way was a necessary, well, evil.

rocinante721: Ditto for Shatner

Oh, absolutely! Why does no one ever talk about that? Although I think Family Guy made a joke about it just a couple of weeks ago.

I picture Shatner as someone who is proud of his fame and all the money he's earned, to the degree that he's pretty much insane, and does not live on the same planet we do, and therefore doesn't need to subscribe to our rules.

And you think this drunken mess was going to take half of Shatner's money? The money he worked so hard for his entire life? To her?

He started divorce proceedings, and when things weren't looking very good, he got back together with her, and a short time later she got wasted and "fell in the pool."

His statement to the press about how he was heartbroken should have finally won him an Oscar. It was truly impressive, but I didn't see any real emotion behind it at all.

But at the end of the day, he kept 100% his money, didn't he?

There still isn't a Stones music video comp on official DVD.

There is a long list of Stones sanctioned pro shot Stones that has never made it too official DVD. Torrents are your friend.

Courtney Love snuck in to the house, propped the gun up and forced Kurt to eat lead, all while leaving no trace of her ever being there DUH.

i like this special version better than the original, and the video makes it more full of win.

"get yer ya ya's out" is a great "live" album.
i've heard the only thing that wasn't re-done in the studio was Mick's vocals for "midnight rambler" and maybe a few other vocal tracks as well.

that being said, the guitar solo by the guy who isn't Keith [dammit what's his name] on "sympathy for the devil" is freakin cool and awesome for 1968. it's like a proto-classic rock solo.
don't get me wrong, I like Keith's solo in it as well, but not as much as the other guy's.

i freakin' love "midnight rambler" on it.... blows away the studio version...

if i ever had a retro boogie-on-down party, "get yer ya ya's out" would definately one of the oldschool records i'd put on.

/ it's also the minor things that make it....
like how charlie watts was off-time at the beginning of one of the songs. mick says "charlie, you're off".
later on: "charlie's good tonight, innit he?"

The b-side to "Flash" was an incredibly awesome track called "Child of the Moon"

by far my favorite Stones deep cut of all.
