It is entirely possible, even likely, that Biden is "mis-remembering" this event. I, however, would not trust Karl Rove if he told me water was wet.

First clue Biden is a liar: He wears a lie on his head
Second clue: He lies alot

Ironic, subby?

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

If Rove told me water is wet, I'd go to a sink to verify it myself.

When you spend eight years gagging on Dick Cheney's chode, you pretty much lose the right to be taken seriously.

Biden is such a windbag he can't keep any of his "facts" straight.

He believes his own BS and is such an old school Washington POS politician that he thinks he can say whatever he wants.

I was surprised that Obama picked him and thought for sure it was a huge mistake. It did not cost him the election, but it still was a stupid move.

Other than that he is a nice guy.

"If you want to know where Al Qaeda lives, you want to know where bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me," Biden bragged to the National Guard Association. "Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down, with a three-star general and three senators at10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are."

But it turns out that inclement weather, not terrorists, prompted the chopper to land in an open field during Biden's visit to Afghanistan in February 2008. Fighter jets kept watch overhead while a convoy of security vehicles was dispatched to retrieve Biden and fellow Sens. Chuck Hagel and John Kerry.

The best part about this? Biden doesn't feel ashamed about stretching the truth. He'll just find something else to exaggerate about.

lelio: The best part about this? Biden doesn't feel ashamed about stretching the truth. He'll just find something else to exaggerate about.

Uh, he didn't say terrorists forced his helicopter down. He said they were located at the same place.

It is kind of different.

THAT's pretty tall talk coming from someone who belongs in a War Crimes Dock with the likes of Cheney, his sock puppet Bush, Condi, Gonzales, etc, etc., especially when you consider how he denies/lies about his own gayness, as in Guckert/Gannon, and his last dust up inside a GOP DC "HotSpot" where he was accosted by another GOP Pol OP while having a quiet dinner with Ken Mehlman.
I believe Roves most memorable quote from THAT encounter was the very Cheneyesque " I have a file on you"

solokumba:

There is a "form" of truth out there in the aether and it gets fouled and perverted as it comes into being. Pure truth is perfect and thus exists only as a pure form. Thus, Rove is guilty of only espousing the corrupted truth as this is the only possibility that truth has outside of its pure form. Its not his fault.

Leave Rove Alone!!!

this is awesome. the more rove, rush and cheney speak out, the better it is for democrats. i'd bet their collective approval rating isn't half what obama's is.

keep bloviating, karl - it's what you're good at!

I can't believe that anything Rove says these days isn't greeted with hails of derisive laughter. For all his reputation as an "evil political genius", he proved to be completely incapable of coming up with anything new to try when things went south for Bush and the Republican party He just kept slinging the same shiat even though it was more and more obvious it wasn't working.

The Republican party needs to give him a nice job at a "think tank", on the condition he never be seen in public again. They will not regain the power they have lost until Rove and his political strategies are exorcised from the party.

I find it kind of wierd that Biden has often admitted to telling misstatements and fibs. Because the high number of them over the years has meant the media actually has challenged the plagiarism, fib or tale.

Over time...yea he's known for stretching or distorting stories.

But with Joe, it seems like he has only spent one year in Washington, and that same year has just been repeated 30+ times.
He never changes.

What did Obama say? "Your word is your worth..." then it was odd he picked Joe.

I'm ROFLing that Rove's fat face is on TV every day attacking Democrats.

It reminds everyone of the incompetence and failure of the Republicans.

The only way it could be better is if it was Bush himself.

Maybe he knows Biden never said this, because he was too far stuck up Bush's Ass not to know, Boyeee!

Erebus1954 2009-04-11 01:23:39 PM
"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed," Biden told the CBS Evening News on Sept. 22. (Herbert Hoover was president in October 1929 when the stock market crashed. FDR wasn't elected until 1932, and television made its debut a decade later, in 1939.)

"Hope you won't hold it against me, but I am a hard coal miner -- anthracite coal, Scranton, Pennsylvania, that's where I was born and raised," Biden said to mine workers in Virginia on Sept. 20. (While his great-grandfather was a mining engineer, his father ran a Delaware car dealership and worked in the oil business. His campaign tried to spin the comments as a joke.)

Since both are in politics, and therein by definition both lie, it fits. I know it's hard to wrap your brain around now but maybe, when you're all growed up, you'll figure it out.

Lemme know when Biden decides to conquer a nation because he believes they have WMDs, when we've been attacked by a completely seperate group. Then let me know when he decides to mock the search for WMDs.

Lemme know when Biden decides he wants to christian-ize a nation that has been predominantly Catholic since the 16th Century.

/Biden may be interesting in the head, but first? Naaaah.

non sequitur.

Followed by smarm. No, it doesn't 'fit'.

We'll see over time if our VP will change...I really doubt it. There will be more from Joe.
