Very worth the time, especially when you add in the Eighties hair on the pretty girls applauding at the end.

Any idea when this was?

Meh. I've often wondered if Chet would have been as good if he didn't have the unfair advantage of an extra finger on his fretting hand.

Kyosuke: Chet Atkins ruined country music.

How? Did he team up with Brooks & Dunn?

Nice..

unlike like those loop pedal-crutched over-effected acoustic hacks that usually get greenlit.

Chet Adkins did ruin country music.

It overshadows his elevator music guitar playing.

Great player. Horrible producer. But if it wasn't for the awful Nashville Sound, we might not have had Outlaw Country.

Damn, that was an excellent performance.

I think I'm gonna go play my Chet Atkins/Les Paul album now. Chester and Lester is a hell of a listen.

flaminglip: Mommy, I'm bored. Can we listen to Michael Hedges now?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Chet could have played that. He probably couldn't have written it, but he could have played it.

Thanks subby, that was great.

To your Weeners: Prove it.

To you second: It's obvious that regardless of what you view as well played guitar you have no idea what you're talking about.

I bet you think Django sucks, too.

Great. But still, it's apples and oranges. With Atkins it was not about speed, something a lot of players need to remember.

/Atkins would have played a bass line while doing that also.
