Pretty innocuous stuff about coordination and making sure there was a good communication of events.

Actually, if this is considered a "mistake" by the White House team - give me more mistakes of that caliber, please. 'Cause that's a pretty damn high level of functioning.

/The comments section was good, too

Eh, sloppy move on a staffer's part. I've had lawyers do that with comments in a document about a client. Really? You comment about a client in a document you're going to send them?

My personal favorite was when the DOJ released a redacted document in PDF form and merely blacked out the text in wanted redacted, but you could still select and copy all the text behind the blackouts. They just blacked it out from being seen. I'll bet someone lost a job over that.

So, when the Bush team drops the ball, we lose almost all of our global allies, the budget surplus, thousands of lives, millions of jobs, the World Trade Center, a chunk of the Pentagon, New Orleans, most of the Constitution and all of our credibility.

When Obama screws up, we draw the curtain back and find out that he and his staff care about individuals, are working on the economy, are committed to religious diversity, and give a shiat about veterans affairs.

Ooooh. SCANDALOUS.

I can't do it. It's just too farking stupid.

You know, part of me; just a small part; kind of wants a major scandal in the Obama administration, just to see how they would handle it.

Bloody William 2009-04-09 04:22:38 PM
Is it me, or have the embarrassments and "scandals" of the Obama administration reached the level of Twitters?

Small, pointless, nobody gives a shiat and you forget about them five minutes after they come out.

Hopefully they don't get embarrassed and redlight it after all, it's like a big spotlight pointing out how badly the righties need training wheels on their bikes to even go out on the sidewalk and ride.

I'm 25 and already I feel like an old, bitter motherfarker because I look at crap like Twitter and Myspace and I think, "This is some of the stupidest shiat I've ever seen."

Twitter is a horrible way to communicate. It is, however, an excellent way to stay informed, whether it's a short update from a friend as to what they're doing ("Oh cool, Dan's in NY this weekend.") or how I primarily use it, to get updates from businesses I frequent. I like getting a quick update about the specials of the day at a really good food cart nearby, or what's on tap at a pub I frequent, or what Amazon.com's MP3 deal of the day is.

Eh. It's not for everyone, I'm the first to admit that. But some people have put it to good use.

It would be rather interesting. I'm a little concerned that Obama would take full responsibility for something that wasn't really his fault and resign though.

I'm really starting to think that Obama must have run over Drew's cat or something. If you base political opinion off of what gets greened, you'd think Drew effing despised Obama.

Nah. It's just that flame wars get page views. Obama is incredibly popular, so insulting him will often get a response. It wouldn't surprise me if Drew pays some of the right-wing trolls to post false things that they know someone will be along to correct.

bikerific 2009-04-09 06:55:27 PM
Meh.

I interned for a Democratic US Senator.

My first day of work, the office was in an uproar because a staffer had added a little editorial comment to the bottom of a letter to a major pro-life organization, saying ". . .and don't ever farking call us again." He thought it would be a little inside joke, and that the editor up the chain would catch it and take it out.

Nope.

Anyway, my first day: People were in tears, several got fired. I just sat quietly at my little intern desk.

Yes, it was very boring.

"Can we word it slightly differently?"

"Can we cancel this dinner?"

"It's good to say that Obama met with the vets."

Ooh boy. That's some real embarrassing stuff.

What's going to be embarrassing is the Butt-hurt Brigade telling us how horrible all this is / how this proves that Obama is the WORST. PRESIDENT. EVER.

Oh, I know. I had that theory too (seriously, a certain broken record troll always has TF and does absolutely nothing else but troll the political tab, not even using any of the other things TF offers). That's a big hint right there that he's being paid for this sin some fashion.

And I also firmly believe that some of the admins ARE the right-wing trolls, breaking TOS and making alt after alt to thread shiat and troll to get more clicks and ad revenue. They are trolling their own damn site. And because of that, some Farkers have decided not to get TF again until Drew stops allowing it.

DoubleYooTeeEff 2009-04-09 07:17:05 PM
I fail to see what is so embarrassing or BIG TOP SECRET LEAK about this. If anything, seeing these notes on the day's agenda shows that the President (or more accurately, his staff) is paying close attention to the details of the meetings, dinners, etc.

It's like a little "behind the scenes" vignette you see about a film in progress, but its the real-life adventures of our next episode of POLITICS.

Neeek [TotalFark] 2009-04-09 07:18:26 PM
Lando Lincoln: "Can we cancel this dinner?"

They didn't even want to cancel the dinner. They just didn't want to mention it so that people who weren't invited wouldn't feel slighted.

The draft version said Obama will hold talks "with his economic team"

He needs much more than 'talks', when it comes to the lacking performance of his 'ready to be EX-economic team.'
