This is awesome. Not only does this stink of the old Jerry Springer/Maury Povich shows, but has the added side effects of taking down the Republican Party as we know it. Not just Palin and her ill-advised dreams of being the next Big Republican Thing, but of the Republican ideal as a whole. Their dreams of sweeping the troublesome daughter and son-in-law are now backfiring in their face, telling the entire world what happens when you pop out a baby Jack-and-Diane style.

The justice in this is immensely satisfying. Palin's whole image was based on an 'aw shucks' image that has now dropped it's Andy Griffith attitudes and gone straight into trailer trash central. We're all going to see Levi and Bristol battle it out for our entertainment as Sarah sits back and watches her last and only chance for political power vanish in a storm of pathetic and ill-worded accusations showing just how much of her life and a lot of Republican Lore is a pathetic hick show. And the Democrats didn't even have to raise a finger while they try to clean up this mess.

Well, a big reason is revenge. Levi probably got sick of being used as part of the campaign and dumped when Palin lost. So, he's using the kid as leverage to get whatever he wants. And considering that Palin is still in the public eye for being one of the Republican big wigs--no matter how stupid that is in reality--he holds a very tight leash on the Palin family now. If he doesn't get what he wants--whatever that might be--he simply tugs the leash. Or rather, starts leaking some trashy stuff that'll kill Sarah Palin's chances in 2012, not to mention kill her whole political career. It wouldn't take that much: she's run on the belief that she's squeaky clean for so long that any tarnish to her image will destroy her chances of ever holding political power again.

Or at least to Republican eyes. Everybody else knows Palin's a joke. But this trouble might cause the Republican Party to cast her aside and treat her as the next Dan Quayle. So Palin's going to bend over backwards and give in, and Levi knows it. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that he has the intelligence to really use this leash to its full effect.

Or maybe he does, and if Sarah tosses him under the bus, he'll tell us who Trig's real mother is. ;)
