Sounds a lot like "Tardgarden".. and dear god am i laughing over here at all the possibilities of what that could mean and look like.

Tad farking rocks.

I hope bootlegs are available at some point.

Soundgarden was one of my favorite bands. and seeing what Chris Cornell has done with his career since then has not been pretty.

Matt Cameron also farking rocks.

Would love to know what this sounded like.

Actually, I'd like to know what an actual reunion would sound like. I reckon the band would have to tune down about 3 tones to give Chris half a chance at singing some of their stuff these days... I trust it'd be garbage, but it'd be funny garbage though.

I'd be more likely to go see them if they toured with Tad singing than if they toured with Chris Cornell.

That Audioslave crap was the kick in the ass I needed to realize that the 90s were in fact over and any attempt to resurrect would fail miserably and was a total marketing ploy.* This, however, would have been awesome to see.

Does anyone know what Yamamoto is up to?

*Dinosaur Jr excluded

old news, but it is funny that Cornell's ex is the one who setup the semi-reunion.

Sadly, it doesn't look quite as awesome as I had imagined.

Regardless... Tad was > most of the Seattle Grunge scene.

All three songs are on Youtube... search for "Tadgarden."

As much as I respect Tad's work in the 90s, he totally, completely, buggered this reunion up with his ridiculous howling and the fact that he knew almost none of the lyrics. What a crying shame.

I wonder what Zack de la Rocha with the remaing 3/4 of Soundgarden would sound like. They could call it RageGarden.

The song I heard wasn't great, I love Tad, but he doesn't have the right voice for Soundgarden. Hell, Chris Cornell barely has the voice for some of their songs anymore...

TARDgarden rules.

audioslave sucks.

I heard that and it was HORRID, the vocals anyway.

That would follow in the same path of Savage Garden, who were neither savage, nor a garden.

What I heard, when this was posted a week or so ago, was pretty awful. I never really listened to Tad much, and listening to him screw up some of my favorite SG songs made me not want to listen.

The music was awesome though. Kim Thayil was my guitar hero for the longest. Still ranks on up there.

Raspil 2009-04-09 03:42:40 AM

orly? low standards much?

anyone hating chris cornell for the music he's doing now -- give it a rest already. you are living in the past and that's really sad. burn your flannel and open your mind.

No, I was 16 and just started playing guitar. Most of their stuff was easy and fun to play. Kinda like Nirvana. When I started playing bass mainly, I knew alot of Nirvana, Soundgarden and Bush. That's what my first band played mainly.

We sucked...but we had fun. The 90's were great!

Chris Cornell is an artist who has grown through continued exploration. I think he's one of the bravest people working in pop music and in regards to exploration is bested only (maybe..these things can never really be measured objectively) by Mike Patton.

Tad's INHALER album rocks.

Chris Cornell's latest album is an abomination.

Tardgarden is a better name than Audioslave ever was.

how? im a huge cornell fan but after euphoria morning he tanked and swallowed cock beyond belief. this latest record is equal to him doing gay porn. i cant believe you can mention that in the same sentence as mike patton.

I'd love for the three Soundgarden guys to get back together and make some new music. New singer, no singer, I don't care.

How the fark do you go from OUTSHINED and JESUS CHRIST POSE to this farking garbage. Cornell needs a cockpunch. Wish I had the who needs a cockpunch? graphic handy.

Truly sounds like what you'd get if you crossed Nirvana and Swervedriver. Cool stuff.

'Spoonman' (sub pops)

Super cool to see Thayil, Cameron and Shepherd back together. Also cool to have Morello there. While I can appreciate and respect Tad, he wasn't the most appropriate vocalist to have up there.

it would suck, cornell wrote all the good stuff.

Cornell wrote the majority of their later stuff (ie their most accessible stuff). I love 'Superunknown' and 'Down on the Upside', but the other guys (Thayil in particular) wrote some damn good stuff too.

Cornell had the pop sensibilties, Thayil brought the metal. They made a great team.

Also, Thayil had the best copyright licensing name ever -- In One Ear and Out Your Mother.

I recommended their debut, "Fast Stories...From Kid Coma", to anybody with a penchant for Hawkwind-esque music for about 2 years following its release in 1995. I still recommend it. As my first listen to it in about 8 years proves, the music is still as raw, spinal-chill-inducing and neuron-entwining as the day it was put to tape. Their follow-up album didn't compare favorably.

The only 3/4 of anything Zack de la Rocha should be comined with is 3/4 of a leftover pizza being put into a microwave. The last thing I ever wanna hear from that guy ever again are his dying screams. I would record them and make extended remixes.
