Zappa was militant about cracking down on piracy, however back then it was huge business (people bought & sold pirates in large underworld settings). Today it is largely traded free.

My best Zappa are boots.

I enjoy them because (A) no one profits, except FZ's memory and (B) Gail Zappa and the Family Trust are greedy holes of arse, who dishonor legitimate celebration of FZ's work unless they get paid, and I relish them not getting a dime from me.

Speaking of the great Frank Zappa, should anyone wish to hear two hours of his music, please download the April 4th edition of "The Spandex Years" on WRUW, which you can find here:

Sorry about the technical glitch early on.

I would just like to say that of all musicians out there I only own the entire catalogue (AFAIK) of Zappa. Closest second is Sinatra, so maybe I just have a thing for music from people called Frank.

/all purchased legitimately of course

Wow. Consider the year he suggested all that? Farking guy was seriously a genius.

The Real Frank Zappa book, (the autobiography cowritten by Peter Occhiogrosso, right?), is pure genius cover to cover. Other chapters included information about how he almost blew his nuts off at age 15, how he was set up for porn charges by the Cucamonga PD, how asshole classical musicians screw things up for modern composers, how the US State Dept. put pressure on Vaclav Havel to remove FZ as an advisor to the new Czech republic, how he met his wife (with the strong implication that she's the business brains of the outfit), how he used Rite of Spring as an intelligence test for his high school friends, ... just chock full of genius.

/Occhiogrosso means "big nose", doesn't it?
//shame on rocinante721 - give the lady her money.

Because it's all for the lulz.

// well, no.. Frank was a PhD in fetishes, fondling, and general macking

backstage and at after concert parties
Frank was mainly known for his fondnesses and fetishes,
the live music and long hair were macking tools

i'm sure the whole idea sprouted out of his business acumen to benefit mankind and get paid for providing fondling and fetishing by wire...
and today we call that MTV
