I'd personally rather listen to the sound of hamsters being chewed up by a lawn mower than "country music", but I'm sure there's a relative consensus on *good* country, and *bad*.

At no point would I ever assume her to be lumped in with the former.

The sad truth is that this failure will lead to her "come back" and we get to hear how "brave" she is and how "hard" she had to work to get back to the top of the charts.

There is no such thing as bad press (when you are a hot pop star).

Or a 'not so hot' pop star, as the case may be.

a staffer told us that Jessica Simpson has now "come off the label."

Much like she comes off my shoe with a little scraping.

So sad. Brittany Spears, Lindsey Lohan, et al amuse us with their endless reinvention of their personas, because we truly believe that they are still young enough to really change.

Jessica Simpson is simply a whore, and we all know it'll be less than a decade before her tits hang farther down than forward and she'll have to resort to prearranged drunken tabloid fodder to stay in the bored, bleeding public eye.

She must be the least talented semi-hot chick out there. Can't act, can't sing, can't keep loser boyfriends/husbands either so apparently she can't fark very well either.

I'll be the judge of that, if you don't mind.

From TFA:

UPDATE: Jessica's rep tells OK! that she "is and has always been an Epic artist. She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She continues to be on Epic's label."

TRANSLATION: Sony Nashville dropped her like she was a hot spiky
potato infected with Ebola.

What in blazes was that? Sure didn't sound like hamsters being chewed up by a lawn mower. Far, far worse, actually.

On loan? What, is she a soccer player now?

JS is not, I repeat NOT, and never will be a "country singer" - she can't even be a bad country singer as she is just pop music white trash.

/who ever thought that woman could sing?
//let alone country music
///oh, Sony, farking japanese stick to tenticle porn

the putrid:

98 percent of the mouthpieces spewing forth the aural swill comprising the playlists of "country music" stations over the past 30 years.

I'll admit I don't have a lot of respect for most country music listeners but I'm willing to bet that even they aren't dumb enough to fall for her being a "country singer". Surely they can spot a former pop singer who has failed at that genre trying a desparate attempt to pawn herself off on what is generally considered to be a bunch on non-discerning rednecks.

Dear subbie: You're a moron. I live in Nashville, work in the music business, and it's a bloodbath. Walk through EMI's offices - there's an entire floor empty, and on the 2nd floor, there are 12 offices, and 6 are empty. Thanks to illegal downloading, artists now have one - ONE - chance to have a hit. And I don't mean one complete album. I mean one single. No hit? You're gone. Because labels are full or jerks? No, because last year 5 percent of digital downloads were legal.

By the way - those empty offices were not formerly occupied with rich fat cats raping consumers. They were filled with dedicated people who loved music and worked long hours to be in that business. Not that this logic will change any minds. But the new reality is what it is.
