Despite all my rage/ they're all just tasty chickens in cages

StreetlightInTheGhetto 2009-04-07 07:01:27 PM
It may be beak, but this chicken is really getting to the crowd.

Man, making PETA whiny is like coddling fish in a barrel.

/got nothing

I can't think of any other band that went from such heights of win to such depths of suck.

You know, I'm sympathetic to the cause, but I wish these people would team up with somebody other than the loons at PETA. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop eating KFC, though...which is starting to sound like a good idea.

What in the goddamn hell is peta2? Was PETA 1 not embarrassing enough?

I bet he watched that episode of How It's Made where they hatch chicks and fling them into crates.

It'd really suck to be a claustrophobic factory chicken.

cousin-merle: What in the goddamn hell is peta2? Was PETA 1 not embarrassing enough?

It's just like MTV2. So, to answer your question, it's the same damned thing with a "2" next to it.

cousin-merle 2009-04-07 07:34:10 PM
Also, PETA may have the Flaming Lips and Smashing Pumpkins, but Colonel Sanders has teamed up with Tenacious D.

It's also not capitalized! I'm co sonfused!

Also, when you Google peta2:

peta2.com is loaded with exclusive interviews and contests with all of your favorite bands from Good Charlotte and Simple Plan

I guess it is just like MTV2...

I hated hated hated Adore when it was released. It made me basically stop listening.

Then about 5 years later, I randomly gave it a listen. It is now one of my favorite albums by anyone.

CheezDick 2009-04-07 10:39:55 PM
fark you Billy and fark you PETA, KFC is making huge steps in genetic research and they are hoping to one day feed all the poor people on Earth. Case in point this beautiful, mouthwatering, succelent animal.

What is it that you dont like about Adore if you dont mind my asking. Is it that is wasnt a 'Pumpkins' album?

carmody 2009-04-07 10:58:27 PM
Once upon a time a little indie band from Chicago put out an excellent debut record called Gish.

After that it was a freefall into vast, yawning chasms of ultimate suck.

gunsmack [TotalFark] 2009-04-07 11:06:24 PM
Not a big fan of KFC, but even less of a fan of Corgan. I'll start eating chicken every day just to piss him off.

Precious Roy's Horse Dividers 2009-04-07 11:08:00 PM
I don't understand what he means and I could really give a fark.

Tatsuma: Adore was pretty good

No it was not. Adore is one of only three albums I bought in my life (and I'm an old fart) that
I listened to twice and then gave away.

What dont you like about it?

PickinWhiskers 2009-04-07 11:42:56 PM
I saw a show years ago with an undercover 'employee' filming in the factory. It sucked to see what they do.

Popeye's is way better anyway.

Gunny Highway: What dont you like about it?

There was no Jimmy. There was no soul, no pulse. The songs blew. It was not Pumpkiny at all.
It continued in the horrible direction hinted at on parts of Mellon Collie which I hoped Billy would leave by the wayside but instead he dove in head first and wallowed in it. The album blew.

adore is probably song for song my favorite SP album, and you're talking to someone who would consider himself a SP fanboy.

its good to see at least some farkers standing up for it.

I suppose you didnt like the blue disk of Mellon Collie? I happen to enjoy their slower songs so Adore was right up my alley. I dont really know what you mean by there being no soul or pulse. I guess I understand I just dont agree. To each his own I suppose. Cheers.

/have Adore on right now

You apparently weren't familiar with Metallica if you're upset about the direction they took with their music.

Dude, "To Sheila" is farking beautiful. If you want an album full of "Bullet with Butterfly Wings", go listen to My Chemical Romance.

Add me to the "actually liked Adore and doesn't get all the hate" list. Yeah, it isn't loud like Gish, but it is cool in a different way.

Yeah, because it makes sense to compare the Pumpkins with those douchenozzles. And why would I listen to them anyway? I'm not 15. Anyway, that Sheila tune must be pretty lame because it didn't catch my ear at the time and I really wanted to like that album. I really hated to say goodbye to that band. In the early days they were pretty damn awesome (Gish, Siamese Dream).

Try listening to it now that you dont really want to like the album. You may be surprised.

My favorite disk of theirs is Disk 2 of MCIS but I enjoy pretty much everything. Havent heard the newest album though.

Well it does, considering Smashing Pumpkins are My Chemical Romance's favourite band.

Melon Collie is pretty much my generation's The Wall - yeah it's overblown, but that's what makes it cool.

Funny you should say that. The Wall is another of the albums I listened to, hated and gave away.

Yeah, I love Adore and hate how chickens are treated. So there.

"After all, if KFC executives treated people the way their suppliers treat chickens, they'd be languishing in prison for the rest of their lives."

Human sacrifice of PETA members? Instead of chicken?

Fry them and bring them to me.

That's pretty funny.

If wheat farmers treated people the way they treat their crop...

Ya know, cutting people at the ankles and grinding them up.

Subby is surprised that some people move forward with their careers and their art. Unlike subby who is still in the parents basement listening to Gish and BadMotorFinger.
