I hope it's as good as Bob Dylan's cover of that Avril Lavigne "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" tune.

The song has a strong message, and Miley Cyrus is the perfect musician to bring that message to the younger generations.

Somehow, the writers of Revelation missed this one.

I try to avoid malls for the specific reason that places like Gap and Urban Dumbass like to blare this stuff despite the vomit inducement it causes. Secondly, I listen to only satellite radio and thus my pre-programmed stations won't be putting this on the air.

Regardless it would appear that Myley was not satisfied with the job that Mark David Chapman did.

Will they have the balls to include the "imagine there's no heaven" line?

I say no.

Hang On Voltaire [TotalFark] 2009-04-07 03:46:29 PM
The song has the depth of a 15 year old girl's diary so this sort of works out.

And here I was thinking that song couldn't get any more insipid.

That does it. I am going to start mailing Miley Cyrus pure, uncut heroin and needles in the hopes we can sort of jump start her removal from the american media circus.

Hang On Voltaire: The song has the depth of a 15 year old girl's diary so this sort of works out.

Even retards know to close their mouth sometimes.

I don't know much about Miley Cirus, but Carrie Underwood did a pretty damn good cover of Motley Crue's 'Home Sweet Home'.

IgG4: Will they have the balls to include the "imagine there's no heaven" line?

Yeah, but they'll find some way of suggesting that the line is a sad lamentation.

That wasn't a horrible cover of the song, not the best, but not the worst by far.

Imagine there's no countries
Imagine no possessions

The_Sponge: Ugh.....what an annoying song.

...from an incredible album. Anyone actually own Imagine by John Lennon? They get the title track out of the way and then it's all wicked the whole way thru. I was going to quote a few of my favorite songs from that album before I realised that I was basically rewriting the entire tracklist.

I've never heard any of this girl's music or seen her show but you have to admit that quote from her at the article sounded very reasoned and true. She didn't sound like an airhead. Maybe she's in on the whole joke - it's okay to play stupid, prance around and take the tween's money.

Proof, her version will be full of nasal singing goodness. If we're blessed, Billie Ray will be wearing a white on white suit, walking barefooted throughout the video, turning water in to white wine. I wonder if they know it's a Godless song, and full on anti-government. Radiohead better watch out, cause they're next. Billie Ray will play the Creep.

She can't re-record it. Lennon is dead and therefore unable to sing it again. She could do a cover of it.

Chariset: I really hate that song. I think it's tedious, self-important, and overplayed.

Clearly not overplayed or cynical twats like you would have killed yourselves, bringing us one dead dumb person closer to having the world described in the song.

Remember kids: Anyone who wants the world to be better is a self-important PC thug commie hippie retard!

I'm a huge Beatles fan, and my take on this is --

Leave the poor girl alone. While taking on an iconic song so closely associated with Lennon is risky, at least she is making an effort to record a good (though not great) song.

I think she should be applauded for her good taste in choosing her material.

/ I'm not a troll
// My daughter listens to her all the time -- I think she has a pretty good voice....

i really hated Avril L.'s cover version of "knocking on heaven's door" so i'm really going to try and not listen to this new cover by Miley... ugh.
