Michael and Jodie Johnston and their two young children were travelling towards Springbrook, a hinterland hiking area popular with day-trippers

The hinterland! the hinterland!
We're going to sail to the hinterland!

Springbrook is about 45min drive away from where I live, Copped a hammering of rain over the weekend so this wasn't totally unexpected with the road in it's current state.
Signs all over the roads saying beware falling rocks as well.

Quite a few mountain roads like this in the GC hinterlands and thats the worst i've ever seen a rock fall on those roads. They were pretty lucky. At least, in Aussie land, they havent filled a law suit against the government... yet.

The road, notorious for mud slides during wet weather, remained closed for several hours in both directions while rescue crews worked to clear away tonnes of debris.

This is only the second ever mudslide i've heard about on the Springbrook road. The road is shiat these days though (Stupid Hippy State government members have blocked spending on the road) even though it's travelled daily by heaps of tourist busses. They are copping a hammering at the moment because they have very similar clearing laws that the Vic bushfires are being blamed on. Same Hippy government members behind that as well.

Hopefully after this they can free up some monies needed for the upkeep of the road.

Well, I'm just a simple paperback writer, and I contemplated your reference on a walk down a long and winding road. I'm not as quick as I was yesterday, but I think that I realized something, and that was that even if I couldn't identify your reference, I should just let it be.

I watched the video and looked at the photos, and I didn't really see a cliff.

In my life, I've discovered that if I needed someone, they'd tell me the night before. Eventually, I might have to run for my life, but if I fell down a ravine or something, I'd hope somone would help me get back, just because I want to tell you, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW MY NAAAAAAAAME.

Sounds pretty dumb to me, but then it's one of those 'toy' 4WDs (aka SUV) so of course it's got to have a stupid name. I'm genuinely shocked that they left the suburbs & city in it, granted on a paved road but still, congrats to them.

Came for the Rolling Stones, leaving satisfied. Rocks Off is a great song on a legendary double LP album! Love the opening lick...
