Idiots are a part of our democracy and they deserve to have their voices heard. The bigger problem is that the people writing news articles are trying to be witty and clever in their writing.

As long as the government is throwing money around, how about an American knockoff of the BBC?

If not for the NYTimes, what would we have for debating skills on the weekends.

Wagoner should be flogged in the streets for the Hummer alone

The Hummer was a great idea, sold well and probably kept GM afloat for alittle longer. Hummers use alot of gas so the drivers paid more gas taxes to the government, and their drivers are more likely to be given a speeding ticket than drivers of any other car, which contributes even more to government funds. An H2 is great offroad and is certainly more practical than an Escalade, as well as being more flashy.

/but I guess anyone who does not drive a prius is the enemy.

I'll never buy GM again.

Those bastards sold me a lemon, then demand more money from me (via taxes)

I guess that means I hate America.

In the U.S. talking about flogging and the guillotine is kind of tongue-in-cheek. (As opposed to say Afghanistan where you might actually get flogged) Wink-wink nudge-nudge talk to crazy people with guns is a little bit different.

But I suppose the NYTimes columnist is being a bit of a hypocrite. And you have to wonder what the media's role is in encouraging threats to AIG employees.

I know an ultra liberal woman at work who has said to me, "yes I advocate liberal violence." I just assume she is against guns. So I don't know if we should all be slapping Republicans ineffectually, or what.

\when she gets going in this vein, all us (liberal) coworkers say to her "Oh [name] ..." and try to change the subject
\\would not put her in charge of the guillotine committee

Why is this marked as fascist? Or in politics instead of business?

Really through, I find no problem with his statements. The difference between the two is that no one really believes that conservatives are using hyperbole for many of their statements.

You expected competent journalism or logical consistency from an outfit called "Hot Air", subby? This is Floor Humper level asshatery.

We need to bring back The Games. We could make Republicans fight each other to the death.

I don't see anything hypocritical about flogging crooked execs and CEOs.

What's hypocritical is that we don't actually do it to them. A couple of public scourgings, and I bet the rest of them would smarten right up.

No one complains about spanking kids, and these guys need to learn too....

Actually a lot on the left do complain about spanking kids. What is hypocritical is how Obama won't be "outraged" by the bonuses to Freddie/Fannie and AmTrak.
