Mr. Nash said, "I think it is ridiculous that the head of a law enforcement agency would actually believe, let alone be foolish enough to assert, that something I said led to the burning of a car. After all, I do 15 hours of live radio every week using my real name. I proudly proclaim my Brainerd residency, my home telephone number with street address is published in the print and online telephone directory, and I have been known to give out my own home address - 3623 Lerch Street - On Air. I can't resist pointing out no harm has ever come to me, my wife, our pets or our property."

How many people have you put into prison that might have an axe to grind with you dumbass? Maybe your wife scares them away.

Mr. Nash said Chief Cooper's assertion "appears to be yet another link in a long chain of events that seemingly suggest Mr. Cooper is not an effective leader, going so far as to suggest the chief may be suffering from paranoia. "I know law enforcement is a stressful occupation.

So the sheriff lying when he says that all of that info about the girl was given out on air? Because if so it's a pretty stupid lie, considering how easy it would be to verify or disprove it.

This seems like he doesn't like the PC and is such a creep that he's announcing the PC's soft target.

This isn't city business. Nor is it a married woman in a cuckold scandal. There doesn't appear to be a legitimate reason to do this.

We've seen slime-like Malkin types do this, but at least they named the hard target. Not the children / dates / elderly matrons of the hard target, IIRC.

Mama's Boy: Can someone explain why he doesn't like the Chief of police dating a single female?

Possibly because (FTFA):

Ms. Millsaps became an employee of the police department on Feb. 9
working as a records clerk.
If she was hired after starting a relationship with the chief, it smells pretty badly of patronage. If she was an existing employee and they started dating, there are some pretty intense ethics questions there, too.

FTFA: Chief Cooper said later Friday, "Talk Show host Robert T. Nash did not just talk about April Millsaps on his show, but he actually gave her name, age, date of birth, home address, and cell number on the air.

Is this a lie? What's the backstory between these two? I mean, other than 'local radio-talk show guy' trying to get ratings, make a name for himself, get noticed, get syndicated, etc., by being an obnoxious ass... that's a given, everywhere.
But besides all that, was the Chief supposedly banging this chick on the public dime, or what?

Funny, in the article the radio host seems to admit doing it. He claims it's publicly available information.

But if he's your hero, let's pretend he can do no wrong. That's OK with me.

It depends on who wrote the article and whether they decided to include Nash's advising so. The story is sexier if they make it seem like Nash actually gave out the private information. Nash is no hero of mine, but the only person in the article that says that Nash gave out anything is the Chief... the Article does not independently confirm it.

So, the Sheriff, who is not at all involved in this story, is a douche. Is the Chief a Police a douche too? Because it was the Chief of Police who was involved. If the Sheriff is a douche then he should have picked his fight with the Sheriff, not the Chief. But, my guess is that you didn't RTFA.

Either way, he released information about a person who was doing no actual harm to anyone and the only thing that could come of this is harm to the girl. You say he never released that information, but he admits to releasing it. Hell, they could arrest him on charges of accessory to a felony unless it can be proven that this was a random act.

Just because it was Chattanooga and ratings were involved:

Couldn't determine the ethnicity April Millsaps, but I would bet a month of TotalFark that it's closer to Nash than Cooper.

Fixed, my bad. Chief was having hanky panky with a woman on his staff... Nash pointed it out and someone torched the woman's car. Nash did not give out her personal information on-air. The Chief was lashing out at Nash for exposing the relationship.

What I am saying is that I happened to be listening to the show in question, where the smack talk was going down...

He has a tendency to be a "watchdog" for any elected official in the Chattanooga area. I have heard him call out other local politicians for other stuff as well, in one instance he uncovered that one city council member did not really live in the district they were chosen to represent (look up Marti Rutherford). Nash has a history of this kind of stuff. That's the lense I am looking at this current situation through.
