Even if we had any restraint what would it get us ? One zero off the end of the debt ? Whoopee ! I'm starting to think we may as well jut put the Republicans back in charge so that the independents can go back to not complaining again. We could use the silence.

I can easily make an argument. In order to get commerce going again we have to start spending. The stimulus package isn't perfect but it sure is a helluva lot better than anything I've heard from Republicans. The tax cuts for the ultra-rich is definitely not a good way to stimulate the economy when we're seeing a downturn like this. Those taxcuts are much more likely to be saved instead of spent when given to people who already have enough money to cover their basic expenses/fun.

So beginning to reinvest in our own infrastructure gets people back to work, will pay dividends in the future and starts addressing problems we are facing now makes a whole lot more sense than padding the bank accounts of the ultra-wealthy.

This has been explained in 100s of fark threads, so I guess I didn't feel the reason to explain it to you again since this time isn't going to cause you to realize you were wrong either.

A dollar spent to destroy is exactly the same as a dollar spent to build, it's just a dollar spent. Let's have more wars and less investment. At least blowing shiat up shows results right away instead of having to hear excuses about why the economy isn't already fixed after waiting 3 long months.

The republicans have been nothing but wrong. Even before the disastrous Bush admin they didn't know what they were talking about.

There is no logic or reason that leads to the conclusion that you listen to people that have their record of screw ups.
