If you think that Harrison was the "least contributing member" of the Beatles, subby...

There's no hope for you. Simply none.

Also, you have clearly never heard of Pete Best.

/or richard starkey.

I'll invite subby to take a look at Harrison's rather substantial IMDB listing (new window).

Movies? He appeared in several and he even had his own film company. He should win an Oscar for Time Bandits alone.

However, there are five categories of entertainment for which you can be chosen and each star has a different emblem:

* Motion picture camera for contribution to the film industry
* Television set for contribution to the broadcast television industry
* Phonograph record for contribution to the recording industry
* Radio microphone for contribution to the broadcast radio industry
* Twin comedy/tragedy masks for contribution to live theater

I JUST now finished watching Time Bandits.
Forgot what a gem it is if you get the references, and pay close attention to some of the background shots.

It takes me a while to watch it, because I'm constantly backing up to catch some intensely WTF? moment in the background.

They have stars on Hollywood Boulevard for musicians, subby. But, here's a pic of you and your prize:

They also have radio, television, country music (because it can't be in regular music, but subby wouldn't understand that either) and a whole lot of other creative categories.

Creative.

Stars.

radioman_ 2009-04-04 08:43:33 AM
-1 for the troll.

George Harrison single-handedly saved the British movie industry in the late 70s-early 80s at a time when it was swirling down the ol' Thomas Crapper. He bank-rolled a series of hit/important films that put England back on the film-making map. At least some of the Beatle money was put to better use than buying designer legs.

We were talking - about the love we all could
share - when we find it
To try our best to hold it there - with our love
With our love - we could save the world - if
they only knew.

Try to realise it's all within yourself no-one else
can make you change
And to see you're really only very small,
and life flows on within you and without you.

I like the Arctic Monkeys quite a bit, but now, because of your statement, they're going to draw the wrath of every Farker here unfairly.

The Beatles are great and important and relevant still.

The Arctic Monkeys are a good, young band with a lot to prove before they can even be put in the ranks of the Beatles.

Maybe you got me with a troll though.

It's all about the eyeballs, from stem to stern. Trolly headlines = hits on linked articles + activity (and loads/views of the ads) in the thread = revenue + revenue.
