I always thought a sit-down debate show between Ted Nugent & Gary Busey would be interesting.
People could write topics on small bits of paper and fire them on stage with a paintball gun.
In the event of a tie, Ted & Gary could settle things with a `feats of strength' competition or a belching/farting contest.

Do you win if you show up for try-outs and crap your pants?

It could have Ice-T, maybe Rutger Hauer. Oh, and John C. Reilly!

I'd watch that. I'd even buy a t-shirt.

Can the humans "hunt" back? Cuz I know a couple of Navy Seals who wouldn't mind playing that game with Nugent.

I'm a big Hicks fan... but he gets enough shiat ACTUALLY stolen from him. When people say stuff like this, it just weakens the other claims by association.

People have been wanting to hunt & kill other humans as long as there's been humans, I would suspect.

/Oh, and Ted Nugent is an enormous douche.

I can honestly say... if it was the dead of the night... i was on a lonely road and i hadn't heard a car for miles-and i came upon ted nugent in the street waving me down- i d run his ass over so fast! Then i would stop back up, and hit him again.

Thank You.

PS> i think the contestants should be celebrity re hab rejects.. Put andy dick int he woods...tell him there is an ounce of pot, and an 8 ball at the end-and let him go.

Same here. I figured since it was a Canadian show it would take awhile before a Mantracker reference got played. My GF and I love that show. I think it would be fun to go on it.

Basically.

Anyone with even a modicum of time in the woods trying to "blend in" should do alright.

OK, here is my thinking on how this will go down:

They will get urban and suburban people with no real experience in camouflage, the military, or hunting. The terrain will be fairly open (no dense woods or jungle), and nice long sight lines. Probably fairly flat, too.

Since the contestants will be filmed, the presence of the film crew will be a dead giveaway unless they harness them up with a camera somehow.

Anyway, expect the deck to be stacked against the contestants in subtle ways not readily noticeable.

Almost forgot one: Loose sandy soil that makes tracking easy enough that even NY Governor David Paterson could do it.

Anyone else think we should just cut to the chase and open colliseums again and bring on the gladiators..... it really does seem to be where reality tv is headed so why not just get right to what society seems to really want.

Mugato [TotalFark] 2009-04-03 12:21:37 PM
It's the logical conclusion to the reality show thing.

I watched an episode of Mantracker, and the contestant-team was one city-slicker athlete and one outdoorsy hiker. The terrain was pretty mixed though, some open fields, some dense woods.

American Gladiators didn't really take off. Remember that the TV is for women. This show will focus on drama and talking heads, not death-sports.

If death-sports ever come to TV, it won't be gladatorial. Either bringing executions instead of voted-off-the-island to ongoing-contest shows, or Judge Judy will have an electric chair.
