This is what a death rattle must sound like.

The GOP will remain a regional minor party in the U.S. until their primary spokespeople learn how to discuss major ideas instead of this nonsense.

what_now [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 12:48:35 PM
she already owns a 2005 edition iPod Mini.

Jesus. I'm not the Queen of England and I updated MyPod since 2005.

/she probably doesn't take as much public transit as I do.

I'm mildly surprised Hannity hasn't yet collapsed under the weight of his own ego. His dogmatic chest puffing must provide some outward force.

Dinki [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 12:53:56 PM
So yet another gaffe by Obama is shown to be nothing more than a stack of wingnut lies? Color me surprised!

How DARE the President give a gift that she was looking forward to! How DARE the queen want updated technology! I am OUTRAGED by the idea of giving gifts of new technology that replaces the old! How DARE our President give gifts that showcase our successful industries!

OUTRAGED, the new concerned.

Bschott007 2009-04-02 12:57:24 PM
Wow.

The saying "Much ado about nothing" fits this situation perfectly.

The iPod costs, what, $100-$200? It made the figurehead-leader of another country happy and it didn't cost billions to do. Why the outrage? fark, I'd put up the money myself if that is what they are screaming about.

At least he didn't give her a Zune...right?

/Zune owner myself
//Good player but not for everyone

Ha, told you the iPod was an awesome gift.

Now Prince Philip will have to use the antique one.

palladiate [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 01:02:25 PM
It's not about the iPod, or the appropriateness of the gifts. It's about discrediting an administration interested in neither wealth redistribution nor bombing Iran.

Oh for crying out loud. These assclowns and their shows are the equivalent to the emails that your random right wing friends send you. You know the ones: Pelosi is gonna tax all your stock earnings and retirement income 100%!!!! Obama was sworn in on the Koran!!!
etc, etc ad nauseum. This is the same shiat, just sent out on tv. No fact checking, just diarrhea for the frothing masses to talk about with each other and get their ire worked up. I wish them all nothing but rectal cancer.

You shut your mouth. Republican pundits have your best interests at heart, love America and hate, well, everything.

This is an outrage. I am not sure how, just yet, but stay tuned, they will tell us why we should be angry about it as soon as they can find a reason.

For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee.

Epsilon [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 01:08:39 PM
And of course, when Hannity and the other loons find out they totally farked this story up, there will be no more mention of it. No retraction, no apology, they'll just go on acting as if the story was legit.

We have 2. They were cheap, they hold a ton of Family Guy episodes, and when I get around to it I plan to replace the 30gb drives with 80s.

The wireless update is pretty spiffy.

You see, media bias isn't liberal or conservative, just bad.

A REAL report, with insight, would be something like:

Yesterday, the Queen received a signed Rogers and Hammerstein songbook, along with an iPod loaded with the musical Oklahoma and speeches given by the new president. The Queen gave him a photograph of her, in a very tasteful frame, as is traditional.

Readers will note the special place Oklahoma has with the Queen. In contrast to the gift and send-off given to Mr Brown just last week, it shows the US as very open to strong US-British relations, but indicates a break with past political maneuvering.

They don't find it. They mine it from the depths of the earth with sweaty labor and back-numbing determination.

Sixteen tons, and what do you get? Another day old and stupid Glenn Beck.

Hannity - smug

Probably because if Hannity received a gift he asked for, he'd end up either outed or incarcerated.

I love my zune 80GB. Screen is large enough to watch movies, holds many more full length movies and CDs than I would actually watch, allows you to change up the backgrounds (always allowed this) and personalize the interface (only available with the new update patch), has built in wireless and FM radio. Good battery life too.

Unfortunately, it's a PITA to use the POS zune software, and it's not exactly user friendly. Good for the geeks that don't mind doing a little work to get their MP3 player set up just right. Not so much for the common person.

/love my zune.

Wow...you really are into horrendous brutalization.

I do so get a kick out of the "materialistic American" stereotype being perpetuated all the way up to the President, even though he has an Ivy League education and a museum of historical artifacts to give out as gifts to royalty. It's so charming to see that at the end of the day, the President is as much of a re-gifting, ignorant rube as the most simplistic of American morons.

The Queen already had an iPod. The president got her a better one, with footage of her last visit to the states and some other stuff.

Not as historical as a pen holder with a unique origin, but she'll probably use it a bit more.
