I'm sorry, but $5 per month doesn't mean you own the place. Some of us had to find that out the hard way ;)

Treasury: Mr. Curtis, would you like to participate in our super-spiffy TARP program?

Drew: Tarp? Nah... I woke up under one of those after a party... face-planted in the bushes, guess someone tried to cover me from the rain. It sucked, took a week to get the mildew smell out of my hair. But man, that was some party.

When you suck from the government tit, expect consequences. This is, IMHO, no different than the government expecting welfare queens to look for a job in exchange for their government cheese.

Damn straight. Goddamn government coming in to ruin all of these awesome companies that are just fine.

"Hey company, you guys are sucking balls. We've given you a whole bunch of money and if you want anymore you're going to have to fire the people responsible for getting everyone into this mess. "

This is totally irresponsible!

Nevermind. Wow, I'm really looking forward to our special guests Glen and Rush you have on the syllabus!

You know, all the idiots biatching about socialism are going to find that the more they do it, the more people are going to get so sick and tired of them that they'll think "well, if a jackass like you thinks socialism is bad, maybe it isn't such a terrible idea".

Of course, these idiots live in a weird cultural bubble that only encompasses the American South and the Plains states, so they don't realize the vast majority of Americans think they're abnormal.

/Stuck there, grr

Considering his own inability to fill key posts at Treasury, I seriously doubt Geithner will fire/hire anybody before the end of time.

Not so much. Unions members pay dues, and the (elected) bosses get their salary from these dues. Unless, of course, you can reference a union that has received TARP money? While I understand what you are saying about unions and their contracts, your apples to salamander comparison makes you look foolish.

Always remember, mate:

1. Admit nothing
2. Deny everything
3. Make counter-accusations

#3 above works best when utilizing a bit of the shuck and jive.

FTAWhen asked if he would leave open the option to pressure a bank CEO to resign, Geithner replied: "Of course."

And people are fine with this? The Federal government pressuring a private company with regards to personnel decisions and you think anyone complaining is a GOP Whargarbll?! It's not socialism, it's form of soft Fascism and it began under Bush but has really started to steam roll now.

"I fired the CEO, I'm backing up the Warranties and I'm gonna tell you what type of cars to build, but I aint interested in running your company."

And people applauded that!

This. I'm outraged at what those University presidents have been doing. The list of outrageous behavior is endless. I could go on all day with all of the shenanigans they've been up to. It goes on and on. I don't even know where to start. I'll just say that something needs to be done about the litany of abuses.

I'll have to admit you're right there. The union bosses did an excellent job buying themselves a president and a Congress, and are doing splendidly making sure they stay bought.

Yeah. It's terrible that they are being paid a salary by union members after being voted in by union members.

I'm outraged!
