Nice try. Obama didn't fire Wagoner for his political beliefs.

I see the butthurt is still strong. Farking crybabies.

Shiat, subby? A Mann Coulter article? Seriously? Fark off.

Lord, and to think someone gave that woman a law degree.

Packing the Justice Department with Evangelical friendlies causes the normal organs of government not to work correctly, and creates an environment where Evangelicals and their toadies can get away with malfeasance. It's a wholly different issue, and Coulter knows that. She is, once again, making money off the fact that her target audience thinks that having politico-religionists run the government is a good thing.

.

I'm not so sure that the woman does. The more I read the filth that she writes, the more and more I am convinced that she believes all this idiocy.

What's up with that?

I'm pretty sure she's very smart and in it for the money. She's so smart she can write satire that no one gets. I wouldn't be surprised if, on her death bed, she recanted all this nonsense and said it was all one big joke

Well, she does admit that she's a dead animal of some kind:

The esteemed professor Singer also believes sex with animals is acceptable and has no objections to necrophilia -- provided the deceased gave consent when still alive. We're still waiting to hear his views on sex with dead animals. Especially me, as I have no plans for next weekend.

Or maybe she's saying that she wants to have sex with a dead animal. I'm not real clear on that part ;)

Uchiha_Cycliste [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 07:26:13 AM
I agree. There is absolutely no difference between firing someone because they won't do exactly what you want instead of what they believe is right; and firing someone because of constant, frequent unfathomable poor decision making. Sid_6.7: DistendedPendulusFrenulum: and Coulter knows that

I'm not so sure that the woman does. The more I read the filth that she writes, the more and more I am convinced that she believes all this idiocy.

You gotta follow through ;)

Nobody is stupid enough to think those are the same thing. Right? The attorneys were fired for having different political beliefs, i.e. discrimination. Wagner was fired for running a company badly. Yeah, those look like the same thing to me.

This About That [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 07:36:52 AM
tchamber: Obama didn't fire Wagoner for his political beliefs.

Obama didn't fire Wagoner. Obama, and Obama's crew, for financial and business reasons, advised Wagoner and a number of board members that it was necessary to step aside before they invested a huge sum into the company. He, and they, acted very much as any major investor might do. Wagoner, to his credit, gracefully (AFAIK) bowed to the inevitable and resigned.

Dubya, for political and ideological reasons, fired pretty much anybody who disagreed with his power base and his fundamentalist principles over abortion and stem cell research. He also appointed quite a few people to vital positions of power based upon little more than that.

It's fairly ironic when you consider how much Bush is like Wagoner in that every position he's ever held publicly and privately he has managed to f*ck up royally. It's like he has got the anti-Midas touch.,

let's try another similarly bizarre equivalency: it's okay for a soldier to kill another man on the field of battle but it's not okay for me to chop up my girlfriend in a meth-fueled rage? this is NOT the america i wan to live in!!!

see, i can do it, too!

Obama didn't fire anybody. He put conditions on the cash that the company was given by the government. Which is a good thing, and should have been done to a much greater extent with *cough* other recipients.

You don't want to be told how to run your business? Don't need taxpayer dollars to keep your company on life support.

This is so apples and oranges. But, your average person doesn't know apples from oranges these days.

//Believes people should have to take a class and pass a test, to be able to vote. I know, I know--probably unconstitutional.

This. If Wagoner wanted to keep his job, he could have refused a government bailout.

This is absurdity of the most epic level. If you don't want the government telling you how to run your business don't take their money.

GM: WE SUCK AT LIFE SO GIVE US FREE MONEY

Obama: Okay, we will, but if you really want it, there are some conditions you're going to have to meet, one of which is making sure this dude isn't running the show.

GM: Okay, we recognize that the choice is ours, and we elect to get rid of this dude in exchange for government money.

Dude: I have no problem with this. Later boners.

Okay, then why didn't Obama keep Bush's cabinet in place?

GavinTheAlmighty 2009-04-02 09:04:19 AM
Ugh. Either Coulter doesn't understand the difference and she's a fool who shouldn't have a law degree, or she does understand the difference and she's just being a partisan toolbag. Either one is unacceptable.

What grinds my gears mostly here is that people will willingly believe her and even when the truth and logic is pointed out to them, they will just stick their fingers in their ears and go "LA LA LA LA FASCIST SOCIALISM DURRRRR". And then whose fault is that? The people for being stupid, or the people who prey on those who are stupid?

Because they're a bunch of partisan hacks from barely accredited schools?

I Said [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 09:15:12 AM
Not the same. Not even remotely close. And therein lies the problem with the GOP's loudest proponents today:

Everything has to be oversimplified or it is deemed too complicated to understand and therefore must be fought against.

I said this in another thread, but it still kills me...

The right-wing nutjobs constantly scream about welfare queens, and want the government to sterilize them, make them find jobs, etc, but when Obama tries to do exactly that to the largest welfare queen in history, they freak right the f*ck out.

Unreal.

Hang On Voltaire [TotalFark] 2009-04-02 09:17:36 AM
Meh, don't agree that the DOJ firings are anything like the GM firing but agree 100% with the rest of her article. The chutzpah of members of Congress to demand that CEOs are fired and executives should not receive their pay because they did a crappy job is unbelievable.

There's an idea floating around that Coulter is a performance artist.

She, Falwell and Pat Robertson are all Kaufman-esque artists who share a loft in San Francisco. Fallwell, before his death, and Robertson had been living in a gay monogamous relationship for decades and Coulter is a member of the transexual community. It's all a drawn out performance piece.

This is the only tenable explanation to the shiat that these people spew.

Watch for the big reveal when the last of the three is on their deathbed.

OTOH, Coulter could just be the raging hateful bigoted she-devil she portrays herself to be.

Jubeebee 2009-04-02 09:19:22 AM
Not to threadjack, but has anyone noticed the SarahPAC ad on the Politics tab? I kept watching it waiting for it to do something like this:

img.photobucket.com

But it didn't. I am highly diappointed.

Oh, and asking for someone's resignation due to their incompetence is just slightly different than firing someone due to their political beliefs.
