(The Queen) has met 11 of the 12 U.S. presidents who have been in power during her reign. Lyndon B. Johnson was the only U.S. President to not receive an audience. A palace spokesman said he did not know why.

Maybe because he was too busy running a war at the time?

I disagree. "Britain" maybe, but definitely not England.

Bush: Did he really say that? God he is such a moran and an embarrassment to this country. Do you think he ties his own shoes? Really, is it any wonder why the rest of the world hates us?

Obama: The terms are generally interchangeable.

Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Ford and both Bushes would like a word with you.

It was probably because LBJ said it would have to happen while he was on the crapper.

"From there it is on to a reception in the palace's lavishly furnished state rooms for all G-20 heads, before dinner at Number Ten Downing Street, cooked by British celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver."

Dear Lord, I thought the British were through with the Intolerable Acts in the 1770s.

/I wonder if they'll watch any of those movies the President gave the PM after dinner. Oh, wait.

Perhaps it is more like saying there are 57 states.

sixty...the guy thinks there are 60 states

Listen to the clip. He says he has been to 57 with one left to go and he wasn't allowed to go to Hawaii and Alaska.

If you're going to troll with a year old verbal gaffe...the least you could do is get the math right.

This is very much true. Compared to the rest of the world, he also sucks at geography (although he's probably far better at it than the average American).

I don't know that it's worthy of pounding-on-the-desk outrage level criticism, but it's definitely in the area of point-and-snicker-a bit-and-then-forget-about-it.

No YOU'RE a Towel: I know the difference, and I still use it interchangeably.

I know there's *A* difference, though I'll be honest and say I couldn't tell you which one referred to which, but I will say this:

I. Don't. Care. Look, just cause you guys have some cultural issues, doesn't mean I have to give a crap about what you want to call yourself.
This goes for you too eastern europe and africa. Stop changing your name, no one but you cares. And India, stop changing names of your cities, same reason.
However, you're all doing better than Britain/England/UK whatever. Pick one, we don't care. Just pick one.

Lord have mercy. Of course Obama knows the difference. The point is that if Bush had said it he is a moran, but Obama says it "we know what he meant". This gaffe will be out of the news cycle by Friday but 20 years later and WE STILL remember Dan Quayle and potatoe. Joe Biden says that FDR got on TV to discuss the stock market crashing and no doubt that night Jon Stewart was making fun of some back bench Republican Congressman from Indiana and SNL was leading with their fifteenth Sarah Palin is stoopid sketch. The media will never portray a left wing politician as stupid no matter how many dumb statements he/she says

/yeah yeah, the crying baby etc I know I know

Well, to be fair, most of Appalachia is descended from Scots, Irish, Scots-Irish, and a few Welsh thrown into the mix. Most of who didn't vote for him, so, maybe he is making a nod to the region of Britain who is related to a good portion of his supporters.

Probably not. But, hey.

Actually, Jon Stewart made fun of Biden pretty heavily when Biden was talking about his guns and said something silly about some shotgun that he had.

But, that goes against your narrative...so it's easier to ignore that.
