Seems that Rush Limbaugh is a New Yorker in a similar way to how George W. Bush is a Texan.

Wow. I guess the equal housing amendment only applies to liberals.
No one in his right financial mind would MOVE TO New York City on their current salary, so what right does anyone have to complain if he moves out?

The signers of the Declaration of Independence might even applaud his revolt - "taxation without representation, right"?

How about right on the Mexican border? Good location for a fat, big mouthed load like you. You could tell the Mexican drug lords to knock it off and even hop over the border whenever you want Oxy. You would be hard to kidnap, as if anyone would WANT you and IF kidnapped you could talk them to death.

Yeah I was under the impression that he lived in Florida and at least usually did his show from there.

"I'm going to get out of there totally, 'cause this is just absurd," railed Limbaugh,

Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya, big guy.

The problem is that the very rich pay most of the taxes.

If Rush and others like him move out of New York, their absence will likely offset at least some of the extra taxes charged to those who stay.

Is it is a realistic threat? Studies say no.

"But a study by Professor Massey and two colleagues, published in September, estimated that the previous tax increase cost New Jersey only 50 to 350 existing "half-millionaire" households - a relatively small number against the total of 44,000 such households in the state."

While those departures cost the state about $38 million a year in revenue, the study estimates, the higher taxes levied on those who stayed have brought in an average of $895 million a year.

If you're a Floridian, don't get to self-righteous about your state's taxes. The only reason the state can afford not to tax its residents more is that it taxes the hell out of visitors who stay in its many hotels. Not that there's anything wrong with doing it that way; just don't get all uppity about it. Besides, your schools absolutely suck, so clearly you could be doing a better job of spending the money you take from out-of-staters.

Yes and the figures are already in. According to the Spanish Business Review, Spain is in economic chaos due to the boycott!

OK, so let me get this straight: Higher taxes causes some small fraction of the rich people to move, which causes even higher taxes on the rich....

Am I the only one who sees a potential problem with that?

Dang east-coast elitist snob. He should move out of commie country and into Real AmericaTM, where good, god-fearin' folk'll make sure he stays away from the evils of drugs and loose women boys; maybe teach him a thing or two about bein' a good Christian. Like Dubya was.

Some sort of Pro-Rating of income taxes that NY does for part time residents.

I think I heard he does about 20 or so days a year there, so 6 or 7% of his income is/was taxed accordingly.

He is a multi-millonaire who basically controls the Republican Party. Mazel Tov, Rush.

Rush should use his radio show to encourage everyone in NY to avoid paying taxes in NY by whatever legal means necessary until they get their shiat under control.

I have posted the washington post article a few times that shows that the size of Limbaughs audience has never been calculated BY ANYBODY.

So the dittodorks have been lying from day one about 20 million listeners.

The only thing we know about Limbaughs audience size is that it was so small they canceled his TV show.

Bull.

I had a friend who lived in NYC. He made twice what I did for doing essentially the same job.

His rent for a small studio apartment was twice what I was paying for a mortgage for a brand new cozy (but not tiny) ranch on half an acre of land. He couldn't afford a car. I owned two modest, but new cars.

My actual standard of living was higher than his, by any measure other than actual dollars, because while I was making less, it cost less to live where I was living.

Limbaugh's Audience Size? It's Largely Up in the Air

By Paul Farhi
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, March 7, 2009; Page C01

clip -

But estimates of Limbaugh's nationwide (and overseas) audience are exercises in guesswork, slippery methodology and suspect data. Limbaugh himself has muddied the water with the claim that he reaches 20 million people a week, although there's no independent support for that figure.

Arbitron, the radio industry's dominant audience-measurement company, has never publicly released a national estimate for Limbaugh, and it says, in effect, that the job is too complicated, expensive and time-consuming to bother with
