Roger Ebert will never become "a Twit"
It's a bit late for that. The guy said that "Knowing" was an amazing movie.

Ere this night doth wane, Twitter will taste the black sperm of Ebert's VENGANCE!!!!

/one of the greatest movies in life.

If Ebert says it's amazing then it's amazing.

What if I were to tell you that someone's hair resmebled a bird?
What would you say to that (as if it mattered)?

All right, I'm just like Roger Ebert:

I don't twitter

I don't myspace

I don't facebook

No one cares what I think about movies

I beg to differ. I've long considered Ebert a twit, a dork, a self-important knob, a spaz, all kinds of things like that. What else can you call the guy who wrote "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"?

I prefer the Roger Ebert description:

"Twitter is mannered to the point of madness. There is not a trace of human emotion in it. To call the characters cardboard is to insult a useful packing material."

Well, I don't use Twitter either. I am not, nor will I ever be, a twat.

I would be happy if I never heard a thing about Twitter ever again. Ever. Yeah I still fart around with MySpace and I do the Facebook thing (which I enjoy because I've been talking to people I haven't seen in 20 years), but I don't understand what can be gained from a 140-character blurb. "I'm having a sandwich on a park bench" Mazel tov! But with all the tech stuff I read and listen to on an almost-daily basis, usually the lead story (and many other stories therein) is always something about Twitter. It's maddening.

=========================

That's the only reason I do facebook. I found about 10 people I hadn't seen in years and it's so easy to keep in touch.

People who find the need to report every nuance of their life or 'poke' me or some other stupid shiat. FARK OFF!!!!!

/not really

I'm with you, boonfarker. I'm so farking sick of hearing about Twitter. It seems like a forced cultural phenomenon. Just go away.

I laughed.

Out loud.

It was an interesting article, though, especially for him.

Btw, I'm tossing out Ebert's 1996 edition of movie reviews; any one want it?

Wolf Nipple Chips 2009-03-30 09:38:32 PM
I don't know. Ebert's a bit hard to take seriously these days. C'mon, does he really have to refer to every movie he sees as "jaw-dropping?"

Sabyen91 [TotalFark] 2009-03-30 11:03:04 PM
Hero tag?

Sabyen91 [TotalFark] 2009-03-30 11:20:05 PM
I don't care who it is if they rip Twitter they are a hero. Even Limbaugh would get a nod from me for saying something like this.

Thank FSM I'm not the only one. I thought I was gonna have to start shaking my fist at passing clouds.
