You mean all those wealthy moms actually queued up for two days to get tickets in the past? They didn't pay a line sitter? You're quite sure?

Go blow a goat subby.

I wish I was closer to DC so I could hear the tiny violins playing.

Waaaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaah!

I want something and I can't have it.

Waaaaaaaaaah!

*sniff* *sniff*

What's worse...is that...is that someone else got it instead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love the fact that the headline says scalpers ruined it, but the only proof the article produces it a reference to another article that has "some people" claiming that it is that way. In fact, the closest the article gets is a list of Craigslist ads of people *hoping* there are scalpers.

Look, I know you had your precious little heart set on it, but the previous system made it difficult for anyone other than locals to participate. As it is now, the entire nation has the chance to go.

What they ought to do is open up the Easter Egg Roll to adults, too, who would compete with the children at the same time but be required to pound down 5 or 6 drinks in quick succession so their reflexes and motor coordination skills would be diminished and the kids would have a better chance. It's boring just watching a bunch of kids and their hand-chosen telegenic minority counterparts specially picked minority representatives. I want action.

And I need coffee, too, apparently.

It sounds like his was a stupid idea, but I want to see how republicans will spin this. I mean, he's really sticking as closely to the republican economic theory as you can. You basically get a resource and then scalp it to the people who worked just as hard if not harder but weren't as lucky as you. Then if the government does anything to fix their error, or make it fairer, you scream about socialism and government robbery and threaten to make your own economy in Colorado with other 'entrepreneurs' like yourself.

Squawker: Why does Obama hate Easter?

The bunny is not black, Jesus was not black, and it is now cool to wear white after Easter.

Honey, that's Labor Day, not Easter. The not wearing white bit, that is.

The whole tone of the article gave one the impression that the ticket process had been haxxored ON PURPOSE...and solely in order to let the scalpers come out and do their thang.

Don't have offspring, and the Feline Fur Patrol doesn't do crowded venues, but may try for some tickets next year just to have the pleasure of scalping them.

/ You can all see the little 'sarcasm' indicator flashing on and off for the last statement, right?

oh sorry if the people who have attended the egg roll each year for 9 years in the past didn't get tickets. the point was to open this up to more people, and it looks like that was accomplished. with the limited amount of tickets available, anyone who has attended in the past should automatically be disqualified from attending now, so people who have never been can get a chance to go.

//oh and craigslist ads begging for someone to scalp tickets does not equal "scalpers taking over the egg roll"

Ah, well, that's the Kennedy Easter Egg Roll up in Hyannisport.

I always thought the Easter thing at the White House was either:

a) A stupid photo op for the president to interact with ghetto urchins from D.C.
b) A private party for the children of staffers, cronies, and political tag-alongs

Obama can sell the whole thing through Ticketmaster for all I care.

I remember going on an easter egg hunt in a forest preserve type area. It was wet and muddy and the bottom of my paper bag disintegrated. I immediately tried to cover my fallen eggs by squatting on them with my kid-sized body (yes like a hen) and I recall persons, perhaps even adults, trying to take my eggs as I tried to cover them.

\one lesson in many that life sucks and people are assholes

Headline should have been:

"Reporter didn't get tickets to White House Easter Egg Roll and other people did; decides to cry and throw a fit"

I thought they canceled the Easter Egg Roll.

They needed the space to grow something.

I liked the comments. Someone did point out that this was operation of the free market at its finest. For some reason this was completely ignored by the "OMG Obama stolz my eggroll" crowd.

I desire photoshops of Obama stealing eggrolls from various wingnuts like Limbaugh.
